“Part of the journey, is the end.”

We are only a few short weeks away from the premiere of Avengers: Endgame. And as the release date approaches and we reach the end of this journey, we want to look back on everything that brought us here. The heroes we watched struggle, grow, and save humanity over the last ten years and our favorite moments of their stories. We will be going through each phase in order, covering every movie leading up to April 26.

The next film in our series is Iron Man 2, which debuted in 2010 and introduced not only new cast members to the MCU, but new characters as well.

Here are our favorite moments from Iron Man 2:

This one is my favorite out of all the Iron Man movies. Despite his health issues and everyone wanting him to share his technology, Tony Stark manages to remain the same cocky sarcastic hero we love. He still fights for what is right, while trying to make sure his inventions do not fall into the wrong hands and be used as weapons. What also makes this my favorite is the fact we get Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff, kicking ass in the wrestling ring. The movie also stars Mickey Rourke as the villain Ivan Vanko, and Don Cheadle as courageous “Rhodey” Rhodes. The combination of them together in one film, is emotional and comedic entertainment. –Sarah

This is my favorite of the Iron Man trilogy, because it shows Tony’s character development that has been hinted at in the first movie in an even better light. Tony goes from being superior and feeling more powerful than everyone else to having to question his abilities and limits, as well as accepting help and trust in people close to him.
Of course, Mickey Rourke is a fantastic villain, but not my favorite part of the film. My favorite part is actually the introduction of Don Cheadle as Rhodey, because he fits this role so much better, and because Cheadle and RDJ’s chemistry is so enjoyable to watch unfold on screen. Also, this movie sets up various important story lines and introduces characters. (Apparently, there is also a hint about Captain Marvel hidden in one of the scenes where Agent Coulson talks to Tony.) All in all, Iron Man 2 has all the that makes Iron Man films so enjoyable and it’s always a joy re-watching it.-Conny

I really enjoyed this movie, as it’s the first time we are seeing the repercussions of Tony being Iron Man. He is dealing with possibility of dying as the toxicity in his body grow (caused by the very thing keeping him alive) so we see him really trying to live his life the way he wants. We see a new actor filling the role of Rhodey, which I wasn’t happy with at first, but Don Cheadle does a fantastic job and continues to do so. Not only that, but we see Justin Hammer as a villain who tries to outshine Tony, but he ultimately puts everyone in danger when Ivan betrays him.

I love how Tony also finds out what is really important in his life – saving people and his friends. Pepper and Tony get together, which I expected and I think it’s perfect because she knows everything about him. She is all Tony has, besides Rhodey. I love that we see Samuel L. Jackson absolutely killing it as Nick Fury, and in the end credits scene, we finally see news about the Avengers Initiative. My favorite scene is when Tony is attacked by Ivan for the first time on the racetrack and Happy drives up with Pepper in the car. She freaks out and yells for Tony to get in the car.-Kailey

Iron Man 2 is definitely my favorite move out of the trilogy. It’s in this film that we really see Tony start to realize he needs to rely more on and value those around him. It was also interesting to see more about Tony’s relationship with his father, Howard. And, again in moments of this film like when Tony discovers the blueprints his father left in a table top model, just how truly brilliant he is.

I also loved the addition of Don Cheadle to this cast. He is a brilliant actor, and perfect for this role. The introduction of Black Widow was also one of my favorite things about this film.

My favorite scene was probably when Rhodey and Tony are fighting Ivan’s drones in the garden and trying to out do one another with their tech, but also just showing how well they work together and fight together as a team- Kayla
