We got the chance to preview Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom before it opens, and it’s breathtaking. When you first walk up into the area, you can hear the sounds of the land, including banshees. As you walk further in, you’re met with the sight of the floating mountains and at first sight it takes your breath away.

This is easily one of Disney’s best things they’ve ever done. The detail in the land is astounding, and visually, there’s so much to look at with all of the different plants and details that were added. There’s great photopass spots in front of the floating mountains, and along all different parts of the area.

Na’vi River Journey

We got to ride the Na’vi River Journey, which is such a great ride! The queue is immersive, and Disney added a cool feature; they have water fountains that include water bottle refills for those waiting in line. You load into a boat with two rows and set off on your journey. The ride brings you through various rooms, all like you’re in the middle of the forest and it’s themed incredibly well. There’s bioluminescent plants and effects that Disney has outdone themselves with. The music is beautiful and really adds to the attraction. At the end, there is the Na’vi and the animatronics are amazing! This ride is beautiful and Disney has really captured magic here.

Flight of Passage

Unfortunately when we attended, Flight of Passage was down so we were not able to ride it. Disney did let guests walk through the queue, which is really long. Everything is extremely detailed though and includes all different details from the film. It’s going to be a great place for people to explore when they’re waiting in line for this ride.

Satu’li Canteen

The Satu’li Canteen is wonderful and it will easily become one of Disney’s best quick service restaurants. The menu includes bowls chicken, beef, etc., cheeseburger pods and delicious desserts and beverages. We tried the Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse and the Chocolate Cake, all of which just melted in your mouth and were extremely delicious.

We also tried the Pandoran Sunrise, a non-alcoholic drink that has Tropical Juices blended with Powerade® Melon. It’s garnished which a slice of pineapple. We liked the drink, especially if you’re a fan of pineapple.

Overall, this area is going to become such a hit; whether you’re a fan of Avatar or if you’ve never seen it before, you’re going to be amazed at the work Disney has put into it. It’s easily one of our new favorite additions to Disney World.

Avatar – The World of Pandora opens on May 27 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
