Vanity Fair has released a first look at the Russo Brothers’ upcoming film, Cherry. Holland plays Cherry, a Cleveland man that gets rejected by the love of his life. He chooses to enlist in the Army, where he becomes a medic in the Iraq war, but she returns, telling him she realized that they do in fact belong together. During his time in the war, he sees so much violence and carnage that no person should have to encounter. Returning home with undiagnosed PTSD, he gets prescribed the opiate Oxycotin, but this leads to harder drugs, which forces him and his wife to rob banks to pay debts and feed their habit.

The film is based on the semi-autobiographical novel by Nico Walker.
