Although Cole Sprouse and Kiernan Shipka won’t get to act in the crossover fans had hoped for with Riverdale and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, viewers will get to see them in a project together, a new film titled Blood Ties.
Blood Ties is based on an article published in the New Yorker by Nathan Heller. Sprouse is set to play Jens the boyfriend of Lizzy (Shipka) who are both suspects at the center of a murder investigation of the Haysom’s, Lizzy’s parents. Before the pair can be arrested, they flee off to Europe causing an international manhunt that spans over 7 years from 1985-1991. Also set to star in the film is Gugu Mbatha-Raw (The Morning Show) who will play Detective Reese Rezek, who is determined to solve the case. Aaron Katz is attached as the writer and will direct the film.
