Netflix has the special listed under “Children & Family Movies,” and the official synopsis reads:
“John Mulaney and his kid pals tackle existential topics for all ages with catchy songs, comedy sketches, and special guests in a nostalgic variety special.”
The special is called John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch. It includes stars, Annaleigh Ashford (The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again), David Byrne (Oscar-winning composer, songwriter, and singer), André De Shields (Extreme Measures), Jake Gyllenhaal (Spider-Man: Far From Home), Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll), Shereen Pimentel (West Side Story on Broadway), Richard Kind (Inside Out), and the Sack Lunch Bunch. It is directed by Rhys Thomas (John Mulaney: The Comeback Kind) and written by John Mulaney and Marika Sawyer (Maya & Marty).
It sounds like a great movie to watch with the whole family, and it will premiere on Netflix on December 24, 2019. You can watch the trailer below.
