So, Ravonna Renslayer and the TVA aren’t all that great. In a grand twist in Loki episode 4, the real villains turned out to not be a Loki Variant after all, but the TVA themselves.
The Time-Keepers are Disney Park animatronics and Ravonna Renslayer is more like Ravonna Ren-Snake. Episode 4 came to shake things up, and it succeeded. The TVA seed of doubt was planted in episode 3, and now that seed has flourished into a mighty tree.
First, we learn that Renslayer took a child Sylvie into custody from what we assume was her home on Asgard, Sylvie citing her existence as the Goddess of Mischief the cause. Then, Renslayer lies to Mobius about what happened to Hunter C-20, saying that her mind was lost and she’d died. Except her mind wasn’t lost, it was just now privy to the truth of who she was in her former life. The truth that the TVA had not created any of its Minutemen or analysts, they’re all Variants.
Things get even worse as Renslayer brings Loki and Sylvie to the fake Time-Keepers, revealing to audiences that she’s at least in on this TVA circus if not the mastermind behind it. And after Mobius discovers this secret, Renslayer prunes him. (And we’re really, extremely upset about it. So is Loki.)
After a fight and the ruse is uncovered she also prunes Loki, leaving only herself and Sylvie in the chamber that housed the supposed “Time-Keepers.” Sylvie gets the upper hand on her captor, commanding that Renslayer tell her everything.
Thankfully, it turns out that Loki isn’t gone for good, either. And Sylvie and Loki aren’t the only Lokis who may have a grudge against the TVA. (Still confused about that post-credits scene? Check out our thoughts!)
Now that a new villain has been revealed — the TVA themselves — it’s anyone’s guess as to how this series plays out. It’s all very chaotic and mischievous indeed …
An army of Lokis is gearing up for a fight, and Sylvie has Renslayer right where she wants her. Will Sylvie get the truth out of Renslayer? And where in the Universe is Loki? Also, please bring Mobius back.

Episode 4 is here to shake things up, and we can’t say Tom Hiddleston himself didn’t warn us. In the post-credits scene of episode 4, “The Nexus Event,” the recently pruned Loki comes face to face with … more Loki Variants.
In the ruins of New York, with what looks like Avengers Tower destroyed behind them, Loki meets what appears to be three Variants of himself. Comic fans will recognize two very quickly — traditional comic Loki, the first Loki, sometimes referred to as Old Loki, and the beloved Kid Loki from Journey Into Mystery and Young Avengers. The third Variant appears to be a “Thor Loki” Variant, and teasers show him putting up quite a fight in future episodes. Also, a crocodile wearing Loki horns … stay tuned for that one.
Old Loki, played by Richard E. Grant, is straight from the pages of the Golden Age comics. In his classic green and yellow attire, Old Loki was much more sinister than the toned future reincarnations of the character. Old Loki does end up dying in the comics, reincarnating into Kid Loki. It gets messy, with the old soul of Loki inhabiting a magpie named Ikol (read Journey Into Mystery for the full story), but eventually Kid Loki grows into a much more decent God of Mischief.
Kid Loki is a character many readers were hoping to see and he does not disappoint. Kid Loki fights alongside the Young Avengers before aging up in Volume 2 ahead of the Loki: Agent of Asgard run. He’s still his same mischievous self, but not as evil as his first incarnation.
After he lands, Loki asks if he’s in Hel, the final resting place for the dead, but his Variant selves tell him not yet. And we all breathed a collective sigh of relief knowing that Loki isn’t actually gone.
Where these Lokis actually are remains to be seen. We know Loki Variants have been pruned in the past, even prior to Loki and Sylvie being captured, but where they’ve ended up has been a mystery. Is there some Multiverse dumping ground for Loki Variants? Clearly these Lokis have been around and know the lay of the land, and how to survive.
Will we see an entire team of Lokis band together to take down the now-villainous TVA? We hope so.
Be sure to keep up with our ongoing coverage of Loki including episodic recaps, deep dives, analyses and more!
STX Films has set a release date for the Chris Pine led Violence of Action! The company acquired distribution rights to the film earlier this year.
Pine plays James Harper, a man involuntarily discharged from the Green Berets so he joins a paramilitary organization to help support his family. On his first assignment, he travels to Berlin on a black ops mission to investigate a mysterious threat. In the course of the mission, he ends up alone while people hunt him down across Europe. This creates a new mission, and he must stay alive long enough to return home so he can uncover the motive behind the people that betrayed him.
The film also stars Amira Casar, Ben Foster, Kiefer Sutherland, Eddie Marsan, Gillian Jacobs, and Nina Hoss.
Violence of Action will release on December 10. Stay tuned for updates.
Fans of Good Omens, rejoice! Our favorite angel/demon duo will be back for more adventures. BBC Studios and Amazon Studios have confirmed that the show, adapted from Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s novel, has been renewed for a second season. The last time we saw Aziraphale and Crowley, they just saved the world from the Apocalypse. It is now time to learn what happened to them after that.
Neil Gaiman himself confirmed it earlier on Twitter:
What glorious (and dangerous) trouble will our favorite angel and demon find themselves in this time? 😇😈 Good news! #GoodOmens is returning for Season 2 on @PrimeVideo. pic.twitter.com/cFJQMo0Vkj
David Tennant and Michael Sheen will respectively be back as the demon Crowley and the angel Aziraphale. Neil Gaiman will serve as executive producer and will co-showrun season 2 with Douglas Mackinnon. Executive producer Mcakinnon will also return to direct the show. John Finnemore will serve as co-writer of the second season.
Season 2 will be composed of six episodes and will be filmed later this year in Scotland. Since the first season covered the source material, the plot for season 2 is not yet known.
The first season of Good Omens is currently streaming worldwide on Amazon Prime. Stay tuned for more news about the show!

Along with the wrap announcement, the full cast has also been divulged. No Exit also stars Danny Ramirez (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), David Rysdahl (Nine Days), Dale Dickey (Palm Springs), Mila Harris (Young Dylan), and Dennis Haysbert (Breakthrough).

Halsey has officially made an announcement about their fourth studio album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power. Fans have been widely speculating online that something was on its way, and she officially confirmed it with a teaser on Twitter.
At this time, not much is known about the project. However, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will produce the album. Judging by the teaser alone, it has definitive nods to Nine inch Nails’ sound.
Last year, Halsey released Manic which became certified platinum in a number of countries including the US. Between their recent talk of dipping into the punk genre and various collaborations including Machine Gun Kelly’s Tickets to My Downfall track “forget me too,” we can’t wait to hear what she has in store.
Dwayne Johnson has done it all, and now he’s lending himself to Amazon Studios’ holiday film Red One. The film reunites Johnson with writer Chris Morgan, who worked together on Hobbs & Shaw.
At this time, there aren’t many details on Red One. However, it’s to be a “whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre.” Vague, but the is hope to turn it out from strictly film into other properties as well.
Johnson will produce alongside Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia for Seven Bucks Productions. Morgan will produce alongside overseeing the script.
Johnson has a number of projects in store, including Jungle Cruise, Red Notice, DC League of Super-Pets with Keanu Reeves and Diego Luna, and Black Adam.
Red One will shoot in 2022 with a release set for 2023.

WHAT’S GOING
The Little Rascals
This classic film following a young Alfalfa as he tries to impress Darla while at the same time, keeping her a secret from his He-Man Woman Haters Club, is leaving Netflix at the end of the month so grab your pickles and race to your TV before it’s gone!
Marvel’s Phase 4 theatrical run has officially begun. After a year of pandemic delays, Black Widow has finally been unleashed upon the world.
Set between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, it’s the perfect final puzzle piece to the story of one of Marvel’s most beloved heroes and member of the Original 6, Natasha Romanoff a.k.a. Black Widow. While this film is long overdue, even before the pandemic delays, it was absolutely worth the wait, as it brings Natasha to life in ways the ensemble films lacked the time to do. And yes, it answers many questions that have plagued Marvel fans for over a decade since her debut in 2010’s Iron Man 2.
Marvel/Jay Maidment
As an avid Marvel fan, this film checked every box I had and more. Over the years, there are certain aspects viewers have come to expect from the films — humor, action, suspense — and Black Widow is the perfect culmination of everything that makes Marvel so good at what they do. I gasped, cried, and laughed, sometimes one shortly after the other. It dives deep into the character, drawing out new sides to her I’d been hoping to see, all while maintaining a level of suspense that I wasn’t expecting.
Phase 4 is seemingly aiming to take its content to darker levels, and this film continues that trend. But through the dark, heavy content that goes hand-in-hand with Natasha’s backstory, the comedy and camaraderie mixed in is a perfect blend to soothe the aching wounds it leaves in its wake. This is certainly one of Marvel’s heaviest projects to date, and it leaves Natasha all for the better as the final scene fades to black.
Looking back on Natasha’s previous appearances holds so much more weight after seeing her origins, her history, and her heart. A heart that stayed with her despite the cruelty she’s endured. Black Widow may be a revenge-thriller on the surface, but beneath its suspense and action lies that deeper understanding of Natasha we’ve all been waiting for.
Marvel Studios
Scarlett Johansson is at her best despite exceeding 10 years of suiting up as the Black Widow. This is deeper than she’s ever had to reach into the psyche of Natasha, and she pulls out the most stunning, shattered pieces to build an entirely new work of art. She finally takes the center stage and she owns it, proving that Natasha has belonged there all along.
However, the breakout star is undoubtedly Florence Pugh’s Yelena Bolova. While there is no mistake that this is Natasha’s story, Yelena is the perfect opposite to Natasha. It’s impossible not to fall into their easy repartee, and even moreso to deny the charm of Pugh’s Yelena, who we can only hope is here to stay.
It may be bold to say, but Black Widow is one of Marvel’s strongest solo films. In Natasha’s case, I think her having such a rich and established MCU career only helped her solo story. There was no need for introductions, instead it gave the creators room to explore the more tragic and profound aspects of this character. Her death is granted the meaning Avengers: Endgame denied her as we explored what likely went through her mind as she sat in contemplation on Vormir, along with the things that are most important to her as not only an Avenger, but a human being.

Don’t let the allure of the home rental sway you. If health and safety precautions allow, see it in the theater. The high-stakes action sequences and the stunning fight choreography deserve the big screen, and paired with the impeccable musical score, it makes this a theater must-see. There’s Easter eggs galore for comic and MCU fans alike to disentangle as well.
Also, do not skip the post-credits scene for this one!
Marvel’s Black Widow premieres in theaters and on Disney Premier Access on Friday, July 9. You can pre-order your tickets or Premier Access now!
