It’s Time To Take Cover in New Preview for Season 2 of ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’

In just four weeks, the crew of Station 126 in Austin, Texas are bringing the heat back to Monday nights on FOX. The network has released another preview for 9-1-1: Lone Star‘s second season, which features another clip of the tank that will be barreling down the streets of Texas’ capital.

The words “no surprises” and everyone having to take cover right after seems like a recipe for disaster in the upcoming season of the show. The tank and active volcano seem to be the two biggest calls (at least at the beginning of the season) that the 126 will face, but those definitely aren’t the only ones they will be dealing with. Taking a call at a roller derby, breaking down doors, getting prepared for a massive wildfire (that will also involve some firefighters from the 118 in LA), and working with the Austin Police Department — all in the middle of a global pandemic — will make it seem like it’s all work and no play.

Catch the season 2 premiere of 9-1-1: Lone Star on Monday, January 18 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on FOX, following the season 4 premiere of 9-1-1. Season 1 of Lone Star is streaming now on Hulu and the FOX NOW app.

Happy Birthday Tom Payne! Celebrating the ‘Prodigal Son’ Actor with Our Favorite Malcolm Bright Moments

Tom Payne is best known for playing Jesus from The Walking Dead and most recently the profiler Malcolm Bright on FOX’s new hit show Prodigal Son. Malcolm is the son of serial killer Martin Whitly, played by Michael Sheen, and grew up in the shadow of his father’s infamy. Now an adult, he’s devoted his life to atoning for his father’s sins and works closely with the NYPD to catch murderers. He suffers from a host of mental illnesses including depression, generalized anxiety, night terrors that require him to be shackled to his bed each night, but he still gets up every day with the goal of putting away the worst criminals in New York.

Season one was an action-packed rollercoaster that often felt like we’d just watched a feature length film by the end, and it’s all thanks to Tom Payne’s amazing portrayal of Malcolm Bright. So let’s celebrate Tom Payne’s birthday with our top Malcolm Bright moments from season one!

Malcolm Chops off a Man’s Hand

Yep, you read that headline right. In the very first episode, Malcolm and NYPD Detective JT Tarmel realize the very alive victim is bound to a chair with a bomb set to blow in just one minute. To save his life, Malcolm decides to chop off his hand. It’s the only way to get the man out of the cuffs on the chair, and it really sets the tone for the kind of unpredictable and sometimes a little crazy things that we see throughout the season from Malcolm! It also leads to the hilarious pun he tells Dani upon stumbling dazed from the building moments after the bomb blows, “I have to give them a hand” he says referring to the literal hand in the cooler he is holding. Nice one, Malcolm.

Malcolm Realizes Jessica is Innocent

When his dreams begin to feature a repressed memory of Jessica threatening a young Malcolm to stay out of Martin’s things, Malcolm becomes suspicious of what his mother knew. He hounds Gil for the interview tapes, believing that watching those will tell him what he needs to know. He even goes so far as to ask Martin about it, though it gets him no where. Finally, Gil relents and gives him the tape. This leads to a truly heartbreaking moment in which Malcolm realizes his mother really did know nothing and he’s been falsely accusing her all day. Malcolm slowly crying from the shear pain of the realization and the clear heartbreak of Jessica on that tape is one of those rare television moments that will have you simultaneously crying with the character while giving a standing ovation to the actor.

Or… We Throw Axes!

Following a work incident (aka Malcolm didn’t listen to Gil), Malcolm ends up rather high after a box of drugs explodes in his face. As a result, he’s sent home with Dani to babysit him. Naturally, Malcolm is a very hyper high and screams “or, we throw axes! Broad bladed axes,” at Dani as soon as they arrive home. It’s a short moment, but Tom Payne as high Malcolm Bright has become an iconic moment among fans and is sure to give you a laugh every time you watch it.

Malcolm Profiles… Well Everybody

One of the best moments on the show happens every episode, when we get to watch Malcolm do what he does best and profile the people around him. It gets even more interesting when he does it to his own family, coworkers, and even his girlfriend, Eve. The show often uses very close camera work for these moments where we can see the small things giving the person away, a hand twitch or an averted gaze, while also seeing Malcolm’s brain turning as he pieces together what each tell means. It’s a great element within the series and one Tom Payne plays particularly well!

Malcolm and His White Suit

Malcom tries to take a vacation to appease his mother, even going as far as wearing the very Miami Vice style white suit she picked out, but as usual murder takes over and the suit sees more crime scenes than beaches. Even Gil can’t resist a quick stop at the crime scene so everyone can get a look at Malcolm in his over the top white suit. Naturally, it leads to the best string of one-liners from Dani, JT, and Edrisa on the show. From James Bond to Colonel Sanders, the squad do not miss a beat making joke after joke. We can’t say we’re complaining though, because Tom Payne rocks that white suit.

Malcolm Holds a Gun to His Head?

Malcolm has been known to do some… questionable things in the pursuit of solving a case, but this moment takes the cake. Attempting to get in the mindset of the killer, Malcolm retraces the steps of the crime, attempting to reenact what would have led up to the victim’s “suicide”. In doing this, he holds a gun to his head, trying to understand the headspace the man was in — in fact, it seems as if he was about to pull the trigger. The team frightfully talks him down, and Malcolm reassures them that the gun isn’t loaded… only to find out that it is (oops). This scene hilariously showcases the chaotic recklessness that is Malcolm Bright, and while it may have given the team (and the audience) a scare, it has become one of Malcolm’s most iconic moments to date.

Malcolm Confronts the Junkyard Killer

After the Junkyard Killer takes the fight to the Whitly mansion, we see a different side of Malcolm emerge. While we’ve seen Malcolm display his ability to think quickly on his feet, this version of Malcolm is simply… badass. Confronting the man that’s trying to harm his family, Malcolm throws down (while injured) and effectively puts the man out of commission by trapping him in a box, drawing on one of the man’s deep fears rooted in childhood trauma. This scene showcases the best of Malcolm Bright, with his fierce and undying loyalty to his family, unwavering grit, and ingenuity in the face of danger all being on display.

Malcolm Sneaks Out While Under House Arrest

One of the biggest takeaways about Malcolm from this series is that he doesn’t listen (we kind of love it though). After being framed for the murder of Endicott’s lackey, Eddie, Malcolm is placed on house arrest until the rest of the team has thoroughly investigated and cleared him for what’s transpired. However, Malcolm is not on board with being sidelined and finagles his way out of his ankle monitor in order to go do some digging himself in order to clear his name — much to Jessica’s dismay. While Malcolm’s actions end up landing him in some hot water later on, we can’t help but adore the man who is, above all, dedicated to getting justice by putting the and guys away.

Malcolm Jumps Out a Window… the First Time

Malcolm is no stranger to danger (cough cough, danger count), something that was apparent from the very beginning of the series. One of the moments that best illustrates this fact early on is Malcolm throwing himself out of a window for the first time (the fact that there’s more than one time tells you everything you need to know). Plagued by his intense nightmares, Malcolm manages to escape his restraints in the throes of a dream and (accidentally) launches himself out of the window by his bed. Luckily, the man manages to grab on to the ledge and pull himself back up before he can do any major damage to himself, though we can’t say the same for his neighbors who were probably quite frightened by the site of him dangling from more than one story in the air. This scene does a great job of building up the audience’s idea of Malcolm’s (very chaotic) personality, something that will quickly become a staple of the show.

Malcolm Yells Things One Should Probably Not Say in the Middle of the NYPD Precinct

The NYPD precinct has overheard many a strange conversation involving Malcolm Bright, but the funniest by far has got to be Malcolm explaining (very loudly) to Gil that homicide is the only thing keeping him sane… yeah, probably not something you should say in the middle of the NYPD precinct, but ok. In pleading with Gil to let him consult on a case, Malcolm tells Gil how much he relies on this job to keep him going. Unfortunately, the way that it’s phrased turns quite a few officers’ heads, giving the audience quite a laugh at Malcolm’s expense. This scene set a precedence of questionable things being said in the middle of the precinct, one of our favorite running gags about both Malcolm and the show.

Tom Payne’s phenomenal acting skills shine through in every single episode of Prodigal Son, especially in these noteworthy scenes. We can’t imagine anyone else playing the neurotic profiler that we adore so much and as such, we wanted to celebrate the man that brought one of our favorite characters to life on his special day. Tom Payne will be reprising his role as Malcolm Bright in season 2 of Prodigal Son, which premieres on January 12 at 9/8 p.m. CT on FOX. Stay tuned for new content coming soon, prodigies!

‘Star Wars’: Celebrate the Return of Boba Fett With New The Black Series Helmet!

The second season of the hit Disney+ live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian came to a close last Friday, and now the final Mando Mondays event is upon us.

The Mandalorian, which first premiered in 2019, follows the travels of a Mandalorian bounty hunter named Din Djarin in the wake of the fall of the Empire. The show’s passionate fanbase was quick to seek out merchandise after its premiere, as there was a high demand for collectibles featuring Din and his tiny green sidekick Grogu. When season 2 rolled around, Lucasfilm and Disney arrived with a new tactic — Mando Mondays. Starting the week that the second season premiered, new products related to the show have been released in waves each Monday.

Today is sadly the final Mando Monday, but the item reveals included some exciting collectibles for fans of the infamous bounty hunter Boba Fett.

In the season 1 episode of The Mandalorian, “Chapter 5: The Gunslinger,” eagle-eyed fans were quick to guess that the shadowy figure that appeared at the very end was none other than Boba Fett, back from the dead after his tumble into the sarlacc pit in Return of the Jedi. Moving on to season 2, “Chapter 9: The Marshal” took Din back to Tatooine, in which he reclaimed the remains of Boba Fett’s armor from Cobb Vanth. A robed figure, portrayed by Temuera Morrison, then briefly appeared at the end of the episode.

These hints were finally tied up in “Chapter 14: The Tragedy,” when Boba Fett and Fennec Shand tracked Din down. In a truly epic moment, Fett made a pit stop at the Razor Crest and emerged in full battle-mode, back in his old armor and as skilled and dangerous as ever. Later, in “Chapter 15: The Believer,” it was revealed that Boba Fett seemingly took the time to give his armor a new paint job, touching it up after years of damage.

Now, fans can commemorate the return of Boba Fett with the latest addition to Hasbro’s The Black Series Premium Electronic Helmet lineup, featuring the re-armored version of his helmet as seen on The Mandalorian!

Courtesy of Lucasfilm/Hasbro.

This full-scale helmet features a flip-down rangefinder with flashing LED lights and an illuminated heads-up display. It will be available for pre-order soon.

Another exciting Boba Fett collectible was also released today — a 3.75-inch-scale model of the Slave I from Star Wars The Vintage Collection. The model is inspired by the starship as it appeared in The Empire Strikes Back, and it includes the vehicle, a stand, and Han Solo in carbonite. It features original Kenner branding.

The Slave I will be available for pre-order soon.

As revealed in the post-credits scene of the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, a Boba Fett spin-off show is now in the works! The Book of Boba Fett, executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Robert Rodriguez, will arrive on Disney+ in December 2021.

Everything Is Bigger and Better in Texas in New Winter Preview for Season 2 of ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’

FOX is preparing for a full slate of shows in the new year, and the network has just released a new 20-minute long video previewing all of their winter shows. Mondays are going to be on fire come January with the return of FOX’s flagship series, 9-1-1, and spin-off, as well as last season’s #1 new show, 9-1-1: Lone Star.

Everything is bigger in Texas, and the new preview for Lone Star further proves it. Rob Lowe, who plays Captain Owen Strand, says that the season is bigger than the previous, while 126 newcomer Gina Torres, who will be playing Paramedic Captain Tommy Vega, states that she’s “very excited to be part of this incredible ensemble.”

Courtesy of FOX

Meanwhile, fans of Tarlos, aka T.K. and Carlos, played by Ronen Rubinstein and Rafael Silva, respectively, finally get their first dose of the show’s hottest couple in season 2. While Rubinstein says they’re able to dive deeper into their characters this season, a clip shows Carlos and T.K. having playful banter during a call as Carlos tells T.K., “You firefighters really are a smug bunch” to which T.K. replies, “You love it.”

Courtesy of FOX

As Silva says, the situations are bigger and better since the crew is in Texas. A tank makes its way through the city as the APD is trying to stop it and Owen stands right in front of it. Wildfires, active volcanos, and even Natacha Karam as Marjan being lowered into the ground at a mini-golf course make the season that much more intense than the first.

Also previewed is the introduction of Owen’s ex-wife, Gwenyth, played by Lisa Edelstein, and it is a true family affair. The ex-pair seems to be getting pretty close since they are both lying in bed together, simply trying to make it through the apocalypse like everybody else. While chewing on a sucker, T.K. points out to his parents that the walls in the house are not that thick.

Courtesy of FOX

It’s going to be a wild year, and the preview probably didn’t even give the full taste of what’s to come in season 2. The 126 and company have one last shot to turn the tide and season 2 seems like it’s going to be insane. Season 2 of 9-1-1: Lone Star premieres on Monday, January 18 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT following the season 4 premiere of 9-1-1 on FOX. Season 1 of Lone Star is streaming now on Hulu and the FOX NOW app.

‘Star Wars’ The Black Series Mandalorian Darksaber Force FX Elite Lightsaber Announced

As we all collectively recover from the epic season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, today’s Mando Mondays drop has arrived, and with it comes a highly anticipated replica of an ancient Star Wars weapon.

The Mandalorian, the first live-action Star Wars series, follows the travels of a Mandalorian bounty hunter named Din Djarin in the wake of the fall of the Empire. The Disney+ series was an immediate hit when it premiered in 2019, and fans immediately scrambled to get their hands on merchandise for the show and it’s quickly beloved characters. When season 2 came around, Lucasfilm and Disney engaged a new tactic to meet the demand — Mando Mondays. Starting on October 26, the week that season 2 began streaming, new The Mandalorian collectibles and other merchandise were revealed every Monday.

Today marks the final Mando Monday, which is jam-packed with exciting reveals. Amongst them is a very special item that many fans have been on the edge of their seats waiting for — The Black Series Mandalorian Darksaber Force FX Elite Lightsaber.

Courtesy of Lucasfilm/Hasbro.

The ancient Darksaber is now one of the latest additions to join the lineup of lightsabers offered by Hasbro. The first live-action appearance of the Darksaber (crafted by the first Mandalorian Jedi, Tarre Vizsla) was in the season 1 finale of The Mandalorian, as it was wielded by the villainous Moff Gideon. Prior to that, the Darksaber first appeared in the animated series The Clone Wars, in which Bo-Katan Kryze was the last known person to own it. Season 2 of The Mandalorian finds Bo-Katan Kryze deep in her mission to reclaim Mandalore, and subsequently on the hunt for Moff Gideon and her lost weapon.

In the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, Din Djarin defeated Moff Gideon in a duel in order to rescue Grogu. He subsequently became the rightful owner of the Darksaber, much to Bo-Katan’s dismay — she cannot rule over Mandalore without it. In order to rightfully take it from Din, she will need to win it in battle. The implications of this remain to be seen in season 3 of The Mandalorian.

In the meantime, fans can bring home a little slice of a galaxy far, far away in the form of a beautifully crafted Darksaber replica.

Due to arrive next summer, the Hasbro Darksaber replica is a must-have for Star Wars lightsaber enthusiasts. In an article on StarWars.com, various facts about the making of the replica were shared, including some exciting news — it will have a rechargeable battery! Like the other existing lightsabers found in the Force FX Elite line, the blade of the Darksaber is detachable from its light-up metal hilt.

The Black Series Mandalorian Darksaber will be available for pre-order soon.

Review: ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2 Remains a Gift to the ‘Star Wars’ Universe

When the very first live-action Star Wars series premiered on Disney+ in 2019, The Mandalorian was met with critical acclaim as fans marveled over the success of Jon Favreau’s creation. After season 1’s eight-episode run, fans were left to wonder — would the series continue this impressive momentum into its second season? Over the course of the past eight weeks, that question has been answered tenfold with a resounding yes.

Warning: Spoilers for season 2 of The Mandalorian below.

Season 2 of The Mandalorian hit the ground running, and it just didn’t stop. From the opening episode, “The Marshal,” audiences were left on the edge of their seats as they continued to follow the adventures of the bounty hunter and the Child. The overall plot to deliver the Child to the Jedi carried over from season 1, but Din and Grogu’s journey to get to that point packed a new punch at every turn. The creative team behind the show took the formula that made this television endeavor so successful in the first place and multiplied it exponentially, daring to surpass the bar that season 1 set.

Courtesy of Lucasfilm/Disney.

Throughout season 2, The Mandalorian continued to carry audiences across the galaxy, moving at a pace that demands appreciation for the details rather than the simple passing nod that the breakneck pace of movies can only spare to afford. For those that are in it for the cinematic, blockbuster experience, maybe this isn’t your cup of tea (seriously, come on, there’s action and explosions galore though!) But for the Star Wars fans that have been eager to delve deeper into the fascinating side stories that are so often overlooked, The Mandalorian continues to cater with enthusiasm. There’s an entire galaxy out there, and we’ve spent enough time worrying about the fate of it. Rather than taking a direct flight to a giant showdown a la the Star Wars cinematic experience, The Mandalorian feels like we’ve ditched the cab to the airport altogether and decided to go it alone on foot. And in doing so, we’re afforded the luxury of seeing the finer details that we’ve been missing all along — the unsung heroes and their untold stories.

Din Djarin and Grogu are — without a single doubt — compelling and adorable enough, respectively, to drive the series as its two lead characters. Yet, it’s important to acknowledge that much of this season’s strength was found in the exciting assortment of side characters that appeared alongside them. One of the best additions, hands down, was the fearsome bounty hunter Boba Fett. A long-time fan favorite from the days of the original trilogy, Fett has always deserved to get his due with more screen time in the spotlight. To not only retcon his untimely death with Temuera Morrison under the helmet, but to also add in years of character growth, was incredibly satisfying. And the return of Fennec Shand, working alongside Fett nonetheless, was an excellent choice. Making their live-action debut this season were two characters who first found their claim to fame in the Star Wars animated universe — Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan Kryze, both of which translated beautifully on-screen as the strong and extraordinary figures that they have always been known to be.

Courtesy of Lucasfilm/Disney.

Circling back to our main character, Din Djarin remains the heart and soul of the show throughout this season. And the actor underneath the beskar helmet, Pedro Pascal, once again captivated audiences with the way in which he brought him to life (alongside the help of his stunt doubles Lateef Crowder and Brendan Wayne). There’s something to be said about the talent that it takes to convey so many emotions without showing one’s face — Pascal has really nailed this. As a character, Din was seriously put through the wringer this season, and we were able to crack down deeper into new layers of his personality through his bond with the Child. Though seeing Pascal’s face on the show from time to time is undeniably a treat, the real thing to focus on is the profound storytelling behind the removal of his helmet. These moments are equal parts intense and heartbreaking, and a reminder of what a deeply intriguing lead character Din is. With a new path now placed in front of him — littered with the pain of loss and the responsibility to Mandalore through wielding the Darksaber — we’re more ready than ever to see exactly who Din Djarin is.

The Mandalorian frames its storytelling in a brilliant and intuitive way, as it doesn’t make audiences wait until the end of the season to dish out events to be excited over (though there was certainly a bombshell in “The Rescue”). Instead, as Din and Grogu’s journey takes them across various planets to convene with a variety of characters, each individual plot that unfolds carries a unique weight of its own. Sure, it may have taken Din and Grogu way more planetary pit stops than initially planned in order to complete the bounty hunter’s original mission. But those layovers were threaded with epic moments, like seeing the mesmerizing grace with which Ahsoka Tano wields her lightsabers, experiencing Din’s surprising rescue by Bo-Katan Kryze and the Nite Owls,  and watching Boba Fett prove that he has become no less dangerous, only wiser, with age as he slipped back on his Mandalorian armor.

Courtesy of Lucasfilm/Disney.

We would be remiss not to mention what is most certainly The Mandalorian‘s best kept secret, second only to that of the beloved Grogu himself. In the final act of the season finale, Star Wars fans collectively gasped, eyes tearing up in both shock and elation as a lone X-wing appeared, and then a Jedi wielding a green lightsaber made his way down the halls of Moff Gideon’s light cruiser. The appearance of Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker was far from fan service, but rather a genius plot point and massively rewarding treat for viewers. In the words of R2-D2, [happy beeps].

With the myriad of recent spin-off announcements, the Star Wars universe continues to grow richer, and The Mandalorian is to ultimately thank for that. With two remarkable seasons on the books now, The Mandalorian has proven that there’s long since been a great deal of untapped potential in this live-action television format. To be fair, the perfect storm of technology that’s at work behind-the-scenes of this show (like the StageCraft setup) is a new innovation, so the ultimate feats that the series has pulled off may not have been as attainable previously. But now, the sky’s the limit as Lucasfilm continues to work with Disney to continue producing more Star Wars material for an audience that’s eager to devour it.

Fans will still happily anticipate the films that are to come, but with the book of the Skywalker Saga now closed, Star Wars television series like The Mandalorian are at the forefront of the continued success and livelihood of this galaxy far, far away.

New ‘Star Wars’ Series ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Confirmed to Be Separate from ‘The Mandalorian’

Last Friday, as Star Wars fans came down from the high of emotions incited by the final act of the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, the episode’s post-credits scene swooped in with one last bombshell — The Book of Boba Fett.

In the brief scene that was shown, the fearsome bounty hunter Boba Fett and Fennec Shand returned to Tatooine. Into Jabba’s Palace they walked, taking out all of its less-than-savoury occupants in the process — Bib Fortuna included. Boba Fett tossed the Twi’lek’s body from the throne, settling down in his new seat.

Courtesy of Lucasfilm/Disney.

Fans found themselves in a mixture of both excitement and confusion once the title — The Book of Boba Fett — flashed on the screen, followed by a premiere date of December 2021. It was recently announced that the next chapter, which was understood to be season 3 of The Mandalorian, would be arriving Christmas 2021. Many spent the weekend speculating what this could mean, was The Book of Boba Fett meant to serve as season 3 of The Mandalorian? What about the story of Din Djarin? Would we ever get to see the rest of Din’s story in the wake of his accidental acquisition of the Darksaber?

Bright and early this morning, Lucasfilm finally took to social media to confirm the news (and cleared up those rumors in the process).

As indicated in the tweet above, The Book of Boba Fett (which now has a logo) is a new Disney+ Original Series, meaning it is separate from The Mandalorian. Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen will reprise their roles as Boba Fett and Fennec Shand. The dream team of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will be executive producers, and they will be joined by Robert Rodriguez. Rodriguez directed the season 2 episode of The Mandalorian “Chapter 14: The Tragedy,” in which Boba Fett made his triumphant return in his full glory, suited up in his old armor once again.

Jon Favreau appeared on Good Morning America this morning and confirmed the news as well. He stated that The Book of Boba Fett was omitted from the other recent Star Wars announcements so as not to spoil the surprise, but it is indeed a separate series. He also shared that the series is currently in production, and The Mandalorian season 3 is in pre-production.

Watch the full interview below, in which Favreau also talks Baby Yoda (Grogu), the other upcoming Star Wars series, and that absolutely incredible surprise cameo during the season finale of The Mandalorian.

The Book of Boba Fett will arrive on Disney+ in December 2021. Stay tuned for more information.

Michael Rosenbaum to Fill That Empty Seat at Your Christmas Table Through Cameo Zoom Calls

What was in the years prior, many seats left saved, is now merely a table for one littered with explosive crackers and the main entertainment of a gingerbread-man-sized house. It’s not a snowstorm keeping family and friends away rather the familiarity of COVID-19, making for lonely Christmases in prolonging lockdowns.

While Superman may not be on the case, evil has taken a good turn in Smallville’s Michael Rosenbaum offering 10-minute zoom calls. Letting the moment be shared between up to four friends, he’ll make for that drop-in odd uncle with quickfire humor and cutesy anecdotes between the hours of 4 to 7 p.m. PST on Tuesday, December 22.

For the price of $350 USD, be sure to throw on that ugly reindeer sweater as you swiftly nab a spot through Cameo.

Michaela and Zeke Try to Live Their Happily Ever After in New ‘Manifest’ Season 3 TVLine Exclusive First Look

Season 3 of NBC’s popular drama Manifest is right around the corner, and although there’s currently no set premiere date, that didn’t stop TVLine from releasing an exclusive first look at the newest season! In the new photos, it seems like newly weds Michaela and Zeke are finally getting their lives back to normal after a traumatic start to their marriage at the end of last season.

Showrunner, Jeff Rake told TVLine that three months after beating his Death Date, Zeke is “finally able to look forward to the future and a life with his bride Michaela.” However, Rake says that Zeke’s survival has raised even more questions about the fate of the passengers and the Callings.

Meanwhile, TVLine also confirmed that when the season opens, Ben and Saanvi do a deep dive on the Flight 828 tailfin, which was discovered right at the end of the season 2 finale by a fishing boat, a long-lost character will make a “shocking” reappearance (could it possibly be the pilot who went missing in season 1 during a test fly?), and Jared will have a complicated new romantic relationship.

Joining the recently announced Mahira Kakkar and Ali Lopez-Sohaili in recurring roles are Holly Taylor from The Americans, who will play Flight 828 passenger Angelica, whose “emergence will play an integral part in the lives of the Stone family” and had so far flown under Ben’s radar; Euphoria‘s Will Petz will recur as Levi, a teaching assistant who works at the same university Ben does whose expertise in archeology brings him in contact with Olive; and lastly, Warner Miller from Marvel’s Luke Cage will play Grace’s estranged stepbrother, Tarik, who reluctantly agrees to help the Stones when they have nowhere else to turn.

The first two seasons of Manifest are currently streaming on Hulu and season 3 is expected to premiere sometime early next year on NBC.
