As we all collectively recover from the epic season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, today’s Mando Mondays drop has arrived, and with it comes a highly anticipated replica of an ancient Star Wars weapon.

The Mandalorian, the first live-action Star Wars series, follows the travels of a Mandalorian bounty hunter named Din Djarin in the wake of the fall of the Empire. The Disney+ series was an immediate hit when it premiered in 2019, and fans immediately scrambled to get their hands on merchandise for the show and it’s quickly beloved characters. When season 2 came around, Lucasfilm and Disney engaged a new tactic to meet the demand — Mando Mondays. Starting on October 26, the week that season 2 began streaming, new The Mandalorian collectibles and other merchandise were revealed every Monday.

Today marks the final Mando Monday, which is jam-packed with exciting reveals. Amongst them is a very special item that many fans have been on the edge of their seats waiting for — The Black Series Mandalorian Darksaber Force FX Elite Lightsaber.

The ancient Darksaber is now one of the latest additions to join the lineup of lightsabers offered by Hasbro. The first live-action appearance of the Darksaber (crafted by the first Mandalorian Jedi, Tarre Vizsla) was in the season 1 finale of The Mandalorian, as it was wielded by the villainous Moff Gideon. Prior to that, the Darksaber first appeared in the animated series The Clone Wars, in which Bo-Katan Kryze was the last known person to own it. Season 2 of The Mandalorian finds Bo-Katan Kryze deep in her mission to reclaim Mandalore, and subsequently on the hunt for Moff Gideon and her lost weapon.

In the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, Din Djarin defeated Moff Gideon in a duel in order to rescue Grogu. He subsequently became the rightful owner of the Darksaber, much to Bo-Katan’s dismay — she cannot rule over Mandalore without it. In order to rightfully take it from Din, she will need to win it in battle. The implications of this remain to be seen in season 3 of The Mandalorian.

In the meantime, fans can bring home a little slice of a galaxy far, far away in the form of a beautifully crafted Darksaber replica.

Due to arrive next summer, the Hasbro Darksaber replica is a must-have for Star Wars lightsaber enthusiasts. In an article on StarWars.com, various facts about the making of the replica were shared, including some exciting news — it will have a rechargeable battery! Like the other existing lightsabers found in the Force FX Elite line, the blade of the Darksaber is detachable from its light-up metal hilt.

The Black Series Mandalorian Darksaber will be available for pre-order soon.
