During today’s Disney Investor Day 2020 presentation, as we are rapidly approaching the conclusion of the second season of The Mandalorian, news about the upcoming third season of the hit series was revealed.
Season 3 of The Mandalorian is due to arrive on Disney+ during the Christmas season in 2021, though the exact premiere date for the first episode has not yet been confirmed.
The Mandalorian follows the travels of Din Djarin (portrayed by Pedro Pascal), a Mandalorian bounty hunter that traverses the outer reaches of a post-Empire galaxy. Din’s bounty-turned-sidekick Grogu, also known as the Child (or Baby Yoda, among fans), serves as the the reasoning for most of his on-screen excursions since the beginning of season 1. What began as a mission to capture the adorable creature eventually turned into a journey to protect him and find where he truly belongs.
Since it premiered in 2019, the show has been hailed as a hit amongst die-hard Star Wars fans and casual viewers alike. With Jon Favreau at the helm, working alongside Star Wars genius Dave Filoni and countless other dedicated and talented crew members, it’s no wonder that The Mandalorian has been such a huge success.
