This week’s episode is the last before the winter finale and it didn’t disappoint. With our first look at Paramedic T.K. in action, some weird calls, and lots of family drama, “Displaced” really has it all. Let’s jump right in!
The episode opens with Owen coming downstairs to find Gwyn and her many, many boxes of belongings spread throughout the house as she is systematically going through everything and deciding what stays and what goes. Gwyn is less than impressed with Owen’s sarcastic comments about the state of the house and number of boxes and she shares she’s having second thoughts on moving her whole life to Texas. Owen reassures that he is fully on board but is wary when she says she hoped to have everything ‘swapped out’ during one of his 24 hour shifts.
A preacher speaks at a graveside service as planes fly over the cemetery. Just as his frustration with the noise peaks, a body comes crashing down onto the casket throwing poor Silvio’s body out when the casket is smashed. The 126 arrives on scene where Carlos gives them the run down. Owen says he was likely a stowaway on a plane hiding near the wheels and fell when the landing gear was released. T.K., now in his new role as paramedic, checks the victim and confirms he is deceased.
FOX
Paul, Mateo, and Marjan work to cover the body while discussing the strength it takes to stow away on a plane. Paul notices scratches on the man’s arm and finds a red fingernail on the his jacket as if someone was trying to hold on to him. The team realizes there is a second stowaway. Owen calls dispatch where Grace works through the flight logs to determine what plane they would have taken. Thankfully, Grace is able to narrow it down and the 126 head to the airport to search for the missing woman on a cargo plane. Owen finds her and they are able to bring her down, but she is severely hypothermic according to T.K. and Captain Vega smartly warms up the saline on the hood of the ambulance. The woman revives onlyh to learn that her brother didn’t survive and she says simply in Spanish, “I want to go home.”
Back home, Owen defends his blender to Gwyn as they decide which one will stay. Considering he named the blender, Gwyn gives in and lets him keep it. They move to the “proposed cuts” table where Gwyn has moving everything she thinks they need to get rid of to avoid redundancies, but Owen is upset to find many of his favorite kitchen items on the chopping block. He points out her otter (it’s a sloth) tea diffuser which she says is practical and is absolutely staying. Next, Owen finds a beautiful Japanese kintsugi bowl he thinks should be displayed but Gwyn wants it in storage. She’s very defensive about putting the bowl out, claiming it’s too fragile and will clash with the rug. Owen agrees they need to merge (and purge) their items.
Tommy gets Evie up early to help her train for her black belt test, encouraging her to practice before breakfast much to Evie’s dismay. Charles tries to gently warn her she’s being intense, but this is Tommy’s only time to train Evie. Evie relents and does an impressive roundhouse kick, and Charles tells Tommy they’ve also been practicing while she was at work in the afternoons. “She’s got this,” he says. Tommy has to work a shift but they plan to FaceTime so she can watch Evie, and Tommy reminds Charles to hold the phone horizontal this time.
At the station, Nancy talks to T.K. and welcomes him to the team. She says she thinks it’s great he left the cool kids table to hang out with the geeks. When T.K. is confused she explains that Tim said the firehouse is like high school where the firefighters are the jocks and the EMTs are the geeks. She also asks him about the changes he made to the ambulance supplies, mainly that everything is moved and she now has no idea where stuff is. He tells her that his new arrangement made more sense, after all the 18 gauge needles are now moved away from the 20 gauge so no one will accidentally grab the wrong one. Nancy is frustrated but T.K. nonchalantly drops that Tommy liked the changes and tells Nancy, “I’m sure you’ll find your way around and I am here to help.” Which judging by Nancy’s face is less than helpful.
FOX
At a hospital a patient is being wheeled to a room by a confused hospital attendant. Lost, he mistakenly wheels her into the wrong room where an active MRI is ongoing. The magnetic machine sucks the metal of the hospital bed to it, trapping the employee between it and the bed and crushing him. The 126 arrive to assess the situation and it’s revealed the button to kill the machine is inaccessible because it’s behind the bed and attendant. They’ll have to go in and try to access the button, and the team is quickly whittled down based on who has no metal implants.
FOX
Owen, T.K., Mateo, and Tommy strip down to their underclothes and shirts (no metal!) and enter the room. Using mallets and rubber pressure bags to move the bed enough that they can turn off the machine. T.K. and Tommy check out the attendant who is stable but who likely has a few cracked ribs. As he’s moved out, T.K. helps the patient that was trapped inside the MRI machine only to discover she has a piece of metal stuck in her throat. She panics and pulls it out, causing blood to gush everywhere as it severed her carotid artery. Tommy is able to do an emergency tracheotomy and they race her to the OR.
Back at the firehouse, Owen unpacks the espresso cups of the items Gwyn wanted to throw out. Judd finds him unpacking and he slyly asks why they decided to have Gwyn move in. Owen realizes someone told Judd about the baby, but Judd isn’t about to snitch though Owen suspects T.K. Judd congratulates him on the “new little Texan”. Judd sees Owen is upset about his things being thrown out and points out that he’s never seen Owen so happy as when he is with Gwyn which cheers Owen up. Meanwhile, Tommy tries to find service on her iPad. With the house wifi down, she won’t be able to FaceTime with Charles for Evie’s black belt test. Nancy offers Tommy her wifi hotspot information, but T.K. overhears and (not so) subtly suggests they do one better and use the ambulance to get Tommy to the test in person. The location is in their service range and their ‘office’ is basically the ambulance anyway. T.K. persuasiveness works and Tommy agrees. With Nancy up front and T.K. driving, he bends the rules even further when they are stuck at a traffic light and uses the sirens to get Tommy there on time. Tommy is elated to have made it, but Evie doesn’t look happy about it at all. This is when Tommy learns from Charles that Evie has felt intimidated and pressured by her to get this black belt. He has to tell her that Evie doesn’t want Tommy there, they should FaceTime just like they planned. Cleary upset, Tommy reluctantly agrees and leaves.
At Carlos’, T.K. tells Carlos about the incident and starts to question his decision to become a paramedic. He also confides that Nancy hate him and reiterates her comment about firefighters being “the cool kids” at the firehouse. Carlos points out that when they hang out with their friends they never invited Nancy or Tim along and T.K. realizes there is a divide between the EMTs and the firefighters that he didn’t see until now.
Grace and Tommy share drinks as Tommy talks about how she used to be the one her twins ran to when they needed her but that wasn’t the case during her black belt test. Grace points out that its nature since Charles spends the most time with them now, and while she understands it, Tommy is a upset that he’s handling it so well.
Gwyn arrives home to find their house completely organized. Owen had Judd haul away his living room stuff so that there is no clashing with the beautiful bowl. Gwyn sits Owen down and explains that her latest doctor appointment revealed that she’s actually 18 weeks pregnant which throws the paternity of the baby into question. About 18 weeks ago, Gwyn’s ex Enzo came into town and they hooked up. Owen calls him “rebound guy” because Enzo and Gwyn met just three weeks after he and Gwyn divorced. Owen also pieces together that Enzo bought her the bowl, but she doesn’t care about that. He accuses her of cheating after she says Enzo is one possibility, and she reminds him they were split up and she was about to leave. To settle the matter, she tells him to spit in a medical cup so they can get a paternity test.
FOX
Tommy wakes up to find Charles cooking a perfect hangover breakfast, the kids still in bed. As they talk she tells him she’s upset that he has so easily stepped into her stay-at-home-parent shoes and wishes the girls still needed her as much as they used to. As they are about to really fight, Tommy accidentally flings a ladle full of pancake batter at Charles getting it all over him. He retaliates by throwing egg and some flour as the twins walk into the room. Tommy declares a food fight and the whole family joins in throwing food.
At the station on their day off, Nancy arrives to find the whole gang waiting for her. T.K. thanks her for coming and and apologizes for not being more inclusive with the EMTs and sensitive to taking over Tim’s position. They had the idea to honor Tim’s memory by painting a memorial to him on the side of the ambulance and invite Nancy to do the honors of filling in his name. Below his name is the date of his last call, this way according to T.K. “Tim will be riding with us on every call.”
FOX
Gwyn brews some tea while she and Owen anxiously await the message from the lab with the paternity results. At long last her phone chimes, but as she goes to look Owen suggests they don’t look. He says he wants the baby with her no matter what and the results don’t matter, however she thinks that’s foolish since they’ll always be wondering. She stands up and checks the results. Her face drops as Owen reads over her shoulder and the realization that the baby isn’t his hits them both. Suddenly, Gwyn decides she needs some space, this changes things, and she packs a bag to leave. Angry and hurt, Owen realizes that he’s “rebound guy” for her, not Enzo. With Gwyn gone he walks straight to the living room to the Japanese bowl, picks it up but then puts it back and walks away. Not two seconds later, he walks back, picks it up and smashes it on the floor.
The winter finale of 9-1-1 Lone Star will air Monday, March 8 at 9 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m. CT on FOX.
In this week’s episode of Superman & Lois, we get introduced to Morgan Edge, Jordan learns more about his powers, and Lois comes to a realization. Read on to find out what happens in “Heritage.”
The episode opens with a shot of the Kent family officially moving to Smallville to stay on the Kent farm. Jonathan and Jordan are helping Clark and are mesmerized by their dad’s flying abilities. Cut to a family dinner where the boys are talking about their school schedules and Lois and Clark express their concerns about the duo starting school. Clark says he wants Jordan to be able to control his own abilities. Jordan leaves the table, visibly upset, and Clark and Lois have a heart to heart about The Stranger, the boys, and the family unit as a whole.
The Stranger — now known as Captain Luthor — is getting shot at, on the search for extra kryptonite that he can use to take down Superman. He says he wants to stop Kal-El before he does to this world what he did to his. Jonathan is getting ready to leave for his first day of school, and while Lois takes him to school, Clark and Jordan take a trip to new heights, literally, on their way to the Fortress of Solitude. Sarah escorts Jonathan to class, and her boyfriend sizes him up.
The CW
The CW
Clark and Jordan are seen entering the Fortress of Solitude where Clark says that after his father died, he had a lot of questions he wanted answers to, hoping that being in the Fortress will help answer some of Jordan’s own questions. Lois is gathering research on one Morgan Edge when Lana and Kyle come in to ask her how the family is doing. They then extend a hand to the family to attend their BBQ. Back in the fortress, Jordan meets Jor-El, who finds out that Jordan will be the one to continue the Kryptonian Lineage.
When Jordan and Clark return home, Lois lets Clark know that she’s taking the boys to the city council meeting about the Edge proposal. Sam Lane is seen pulling in the driveway on a visit to talk more about Captain Luthor, sharing new footage of him. Back at the town meeting, Lois questions Chrissy Beppo, a journalist for the Smallville Gazette, excited that she finally got the chance to speak to her. Back at the Kent farm, Sam asks Clark if he’s still looking for a simple life because that’s long gone. He says Clark is the one who stripped the family of everything they already had where they needed to be — in the city. He then realizes that Clark has told the boys about his powers. In a heated exchange, he tells Clark that this will tear the family apart. Sam gets a call about Mongolia and Clark overhears it, quickly racing off.
The city council meeting about the Edge proposal is underway with Kyle at the front asking Morgan Edge how many jobs he’s willing to provide in the city. Lois quickly gets on his case about his promises and Morgan just as quickly deflects, noting that while he was wrong and missed the target, he offered to take a risk on the town when nobody else was willing. Morgan further explains that he doesn’t want to do any harm to the community and that this is possibly something that needs to be discussed further.
Captain Luthor is seen in Mongolia, where Superman arrives soon after. In another stand-off, he says he wants Superman gone for destroying his entire planet. When Clark realizes there is a bomb inside of Luthor’s suit, he has to make a quick decision — either Luthor and Clark will get hurt or the people in trouble will. He obviously chooses to save everyone and quickly gets the exploding ship out of harm’s way.
At football practice, Jonathan wants to show the coach what he can do. The coach tells him he wants him to learn the playbook, but Jonathan challenges it and the coach lets him in. Jonathan fumbles the ball but shakes it off, and then ends up on the ground.
At home, Clark and Lois are talking about Morgan Edge, and Lois lets him know she’s writing a story about him and how he’s destroying the cities he touches from the inside out. Clark almost seems like he’s trying to talk her out of it, but Lois quickly bites back.
“You know what babe, you do your Superman stuff and I’ll do my Lois Lane stuff.”
Jordan and Clark are once again headed to the Fortress, and Jonathan is contently studying the playbook, with a clear chip on his shoulder. Lois consoles him, saying that even though he left the established life he had behind, he still came to Smallville to help his brother. In the Fortress, Jor-El is talking to Clark about Jordan’s test results and says he will never have the ability to produce his powers at 100 percent. Jor-El notes that he will never be like Superman, and Jordan overhears it, becoming upset.
Lois is on the phone and Jordan comes inside the house enraged, Jonathan and Jordan get into it, saying that the entire football team and Sarah’s boyfriend are coming after him because of Jordan kissing Sarah. Lois reigns everyone in, saying that they will be going to the Cushing’s for the barbecue because they were invited as a family so that is exactly how they will attend. At the Cushing’s, Jordan and Jonathan meet up with Sarah and Sophie, and Jonathan takes out his frustrations on Sarah. Sarah asks if Jordan will be going to school any time soon, and he says he doesn’t have control over his issues despite them thinking they had it all figured out.
Dean Buscher/The CW
Lois heads outside to talk to Kyle, who is grilling, and Morgan Edge once again gets brought up. Kyle says they need anything to get the ball rolling in the town. Lois tells Clark that her entire piece about Edge was turned into a pro-Edge fluff piece. Sam sets off the button for help from Superman, and he quickly apologizes before he heads out to help at the DoD. They open fire on Captain Luthor, who is scanning the area for Sam. Luthor finally takes a shot, clearing the path for him to get Sam. Luthor tells him he needs to stop protecting Superman, wanting to team up to save Earth before Kal-El destroys it. Superman is quick to swoop in and take down who he thinks is Luthor, but when he takes the helmet off, he realizes nobody is actually in the suit.
At the Kent farm, Lois is sitting on the porch and hands Clark a drink. Clark talks about the good old days of his younger years and how he would ask his parents questions on how to fix issues in his life. Lois asks if he thinks they made a mistake moving to Smallville, and he says no. He asks Lois what she’s going to do about the Planet and says that the fire she has for the Edge story, he hasn’t seen it in a long time. He wants her to know that it’s okay that they have a lot of questions, because they will find the answers together. (Talk about goals!)
Jonathan gets off the phone with Eliza, and Jordan asks how she’s doing. He comes to apologize and say thank you, because Jonathan has always been there for him but he wants to start being there for him, too. Jonathan says he doesn’t care what the tests say, something happened to him that was special and he wants to help him because regardless, he’s his twin brother and he saved him. Downstairs, Clark sits the boys down and apologizes for leaving. Clark opens up the discussion by saying that he wants to be more active in their lives, and wants to find a balance between being a better father and saving the world. While that might take some time, he’s going to make the effort.
Dean Buscher/The CW
Lois enters the Planet and marches right to the meeting that Morgan is in, seething that he rewrote her story. She asks him if they are allowed to do any actual reporting anymore and Morgan says he won’t have that kind of work printed at his paper … so she hands in her letter of resignation. She is next seen at the Gazette, where she is once again faced with Chrissy and hands over the actual article that she wrote. She inquires about having her work published at the Gazette and Chrissy asks when she is available to start. The episode ends with Luthor being told he will need to move forward without the kryptonite and will need to build another better suit. Shots of an alternate universe’s dark Superman are some of the last scenes we see, and he’s eradicating everything in sight.
The winter finale of FOX’s 9-1-1: Lone Star is less than a week away, and FOX has finally released the first stills from the episode! And while the synopsis for the winter finale, released over a week ago, hints at separate and unconnected calls and Carlos working with his Texas Ranger father on a case, the photos and the promo tell a different story.
The official synopsis for the Lone Star winter finale, “Bad Call,” reads:
“A bank robbery, an apartment fire and a pregnant woman lost in a parking garage are the seemingly unconnected calls to which the 126 responds. Then, T.K. celebrates his one-year anniversary of sobriety, while Owen and Gwyn may not make it to the end of the week as a couple. Also, Carlos finds himself working on a case with his Texas Ranger father.”
In the 17 new photos just released, while the 126 respond to a call at a burning building, Tommy and Nancy are being held at gunpoint as they’re forced to save someone’s life. Notably missing is the 126’s newest paramedic, T.K., who was also seen being held at gunpoint in the promo for the episode.

Find out what happens in the winter finale of 9-1-1: Lone Star, “Bad Call,” this Monday, March 8 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on FOX, following the winter finale of 9-1-1!
Previously on Prodigal Son, the show left viewers with quite the cliffhanger when Ainsley visited Malcolm, revealing she may have committed another murder. This week, we finally get answers, and Malcolm and the team investigate a case surrounding plastic surgeons. The episode also marks Lou Diamond Phillips’ directorial debut for the show! Read on for our recap of “Face Value.”
The episode opens with Malcolm giving a lecture on psychopaths and serial killers. While he does, we see flashbacks to the previous episode when Ainsley went to Malcolm to tell him about a murder that she thinks she may have committed. (Thanks, bloody shirt!) As Malcolm ends a brief phone call with Martin, Ainsley walks in. Malcolm receives a text from Gil; they have a case. Ainsley wonders if it could be something she did. Malcolm tells her to stay at the apartment and he’ll try to find more info while he’s working. Later that day, Malcolm enlists Edrisa’s help to examine a sample from Ainsley’s shirt.
Phil Caruso/FOX
Malcolm arrives at the crime scene, where he learns the victim was botoxed to death. Her name was Dr. Zhang, a plastic surgeon. Malcolm figures that the method of killing also indicates torture. They could be looking for someone from Zhang’s past, someone who knew what kind of person she really was, disfiguring her to send a message.
Malcolm looks over the info they have on the case so far when Gil enters. Malcolm tells him how mutilation in murders (like the way Zhang was killed) is oftentimes the killer projecting. Thus, they reach the conclusion that their killer is outwardly deformed or believes themselves to be. A call from Jessica interrupts them. Malcolm answers and quickly gets an earful about Jessica’s sister, Bertie, who’s in town. As if that wasn’t enough, Ainsley calls, too, paranoid because she hears sirens and helicopters. Malcolm tries to calm her down when Dani finds him to tell him about the toxicology report that uncovered a surgical grade paralytic and a neurotoxin from the Lexington collective called Radiance Solution. Meanwhile, Ainsley grows increasingly frustrated. And, despite all of Malcolm’s warnings, leaves the apartment to retrace her steps.
Phil Caruso/FOX
Malcolm and Dani head to the plastic surgeon office where Zhang worked – the Lexington Collective. The moment they arrive, Dani remarks that she suddenly feels insecure, and Malcolm informs her that’s the whole point – to make people feel insecure, “even when they’re as beautiful as you.” They talk to Drs. Donahue and Chabra about Zhang and their dynamic with her. Dani brings up Chabra’s Radiance Solution being used as the weapon, asking if he’s had any stock go missing lately. Donahue tells them a nurse named Summer clears out the stock and they have nothing to hide. Afterward, Dani and Malcolm find Summer. She tells them she’d report any missing stock to Donahue, and they let her go. Dani is ready for Donahue to be their killer, but Malcolm says if they’re going to get any information, they need to talk to Chabra, the “complicitly masculine” complement to Donahue’s alpha nature. They bring in their own alphas, JT and Gil, to question Chabra. He mentions a woman named Francine Depaugh who may fit their profile.
Dani and Malcolm go to talk with Francine, and Malcolm reveals she struggles with body dysmorphic disorder. They knock on the door and a man opens it, wearing surgical gear covered in blood (always a good sign). He says something in what Malcolm presumes to be German before shutting the door in their faces. They knock again and this time, Dani kicks in the door. They look around the apartment, finding another surgeon performing an operation on a woman, but no Francine. A few moments later, a woman dressed in black and covering her face with a veil enters the room, who turns out to be Francine.
Martin begins work in the infirmary, where he’s cleaning bedpans. He meets Dr. Vivian Capshaw (Catherine Zeta-Jones), who tends to a patient, Quentin, suffering from a horrible migraine. When she leaves to get aspirin, Martin makes a diagnosis, and shortly after, Quentin begins to seize and collapses. Dr. Capshaw rushes back in, and Martin tells her Quentin’s suffering from a spontaneous subdural hematoma.
Dani and Malcolm learn that Francine grew to dislike the doctors at the Lexington Collective because they cut her off. Malcolm believes it’s because they thought Francine was attempting to fill a void. Francine, however, responds that it’s not nearly so deep — she just demands perfection. Dani mentions the lawsuit Francine dropped against Lexington. Francine claims it’s because she got over it, but in fact, it’s because she made a deal with Donahue; He would supply her with the Radiance Solution if she kept quiet about Lana Anders.
Back at the precinct with Malcolm, Gil, and Dani, Malcolm shares that Lana was a med student from the UK who studied with Drs. Chabra, Donahue, and Zhang. Donahue told Lana she’d never have a career unless she “looked the part” (ew), and performed a botched cheek lift on her that left her face disfigured. She then fled the country. They decide Donahue fits the profile, and Zhang’s guilt for her past with him left her wary of covering everything up, which would give Donahue motive. Dani heads out to track down Lana, and Gil says he’ll wait for Donahue at this place.
Phil Caruso/FOX
Dr. Capshaw performs an ultrasound on Quentin, while Martin explains that she needs to relieve the pressure by creating burr holes. She’s opposed to the idea at first, but eventually agrees. After getting the supplies she needs, she successfully drills a hole into the back of Quentin’s head, Martin also feeling accomplished.
Malcolm heads to his super awkward family dinner with Ainsley, Jessica, and Bertie. Before it’s barely started, Malcolm pulls Ainsley aside and scolds her for not answering any of his calls or texts, but she was busy retracing her steps. Gil calls, telling Malcolm there was no sign of Donahue at his place, but JT is keeping watch and Gil is putting out a BOLO. Malcolm says he needs to question Chabra. As Dani was planning the same, the two of them head to Lexington together. When they arrive, they find Chabra lying on the floor, impaled by needles, dying. Malcolm asks if Chabra saw who it was, Chabra saying he didn’t see but it could’ve been Donahue because he felt betrayed. Malcolm and Dani begin to panic, trying to figure out a way to counteract the neurotoxin in Chabra. Malcolm says they need a stimulant, and soon, he’s injecting Chabra with cocaine (Donahue’s stash) and saline solution. After a suspenseful moment of uncertainty, Chabra gasps awake.
Gil scolds the duo back at the precinct, then informing them that Donahue probably fled, as his bank accounts had been cleared. However, he’s a renowned surgeon who’s highly recognizable. He’s probably getting himself a new face, which leads Malcolm and Dani back to Francine.
When they arrive at her place, they find one of the surgeons from earlier blocking the door with his seemingly dead body, but he’s still alive. Malcolm finds Francine lying on the ground with a bloody nose, and she tells him it was Donahue’s nurse, Summer. He and Dani hear screaming. They rush to the source to find Summer in the middle of disfiguring and attempting to kill Donahue. Malcolm wants to understand why she’s doing it, so he appeals to her, saying, “Oh, and by the way, it’s nice to finally meet you … Lana.” He continues to talk her down, learning that Donahue’s surgery on her created a neuroma in her face, so she is in constant and intense pain. She wanted Zhang, Chabra, and now Donahue to feel that same pain. Malcolm suggests that instead of killing him, she should get even – make him live disfigured and in pain, too. Lana drops the needle she was holding and turns herself over.
Martin continues his cleaning duties. Dr. Capshaw informs him that Quentin will recover, and says Martin underestimated her skills when he mentions being surprised by her savvy. Just before she leaves, she sneaks a butterscotch into Martin’s hand.
Phil Caruso/FOX
Ainsley finds Malcolm and asks about the case. He confirms they got their guy … and he also got the results back from her bloody shirt sample: the blood was porcine, pig’s blood. Ainsley was pranking Malcolm. He’s deeply hurt and on the verge of tears, because he gave up so much to protect her. However, Ainsley doesn’t think what she did was totally uncalled for; Malcolm never told her she killed Endicott, and he should have. She says he needs to lighten up, because they got away with it. Malcolm tells her she doesn’t know that, but Ainsley thinks otherwise.
“We’re Whitlys. No one does this murder stuff better than us.”
The episode closes out with a scene at Lake Peipus, Estonia (HMMM), as three men examine something. An agent with Europol, Simon Hoxley (played by Alan Cumming), shows up. He finds the men examining the head of Nicholas Endicott that was pulled up in a fisherman’s morning haul (they found Endicott’s body a few months earlier). Hoxley confirms that the markings on the head indicate his theory was correct about Endicott not being killed in Estonia, which means he is going to take a trip to New York City (oh boy).

Tyger Tyger, a mystery thriller from Kerry Mondragon, may not fit into its labelled genres, but it certainly hits all the marks when it comes to making art.
Starring Sam Quartin, Dylan Sprouse, Nekhebet Kum Juch, Eden Brolin, Craig Stark, and Thea Sofie Loch Næss, Tyger Tyger is a slow and stylish journey from society to dystopian madness.
The plot is lacking in terms of traditional standards. It’s slow, methodical, and a little mad at times. It’s not a film meant to welcome in all viewers, but rather quench a thirst for a more raw take at filmmaking and the art that goes with it. In a world of big budget films and remakes, Tyger Tyger brings a breath of fresh air as it returns to this more artistic side of films.
The story begins with Blake (Sam Quartin) and her friends robbing a pharmacy to obtain life-saving medication in a world amidst a new pandemic (the film is from pre-COVID times, how about that timing?). They end up kidnapping Luke (Dylan Sprouse) and they head out on a journey to the edges of civilization to deliver these needed medications to those in need. However, things go awry when they arrive to the wayward transient camp, and this is where the story changes its tone from thriller to what could almost be described as delirium.
There’s no real rhyme or reason to the story, but its writing aids the beautiful cinematography and powerful performances from its cast, particularly Quartin, Kum Juch, and Loch Næss who create women who could take on the world, but understand its pain and fragility as well.
Tyger Tyger isn’t going to keep you on the edge of your seat or shock you with a massive plot twist, but it will take you on a beautiful journey as a poem in motion.
Hold on to your hats, Prodigies because the trailer for Prodigal Son‘s second half of season 2 is here and it’s, well, killer! Shared today on Alan Cumming’s Instagram, the trailer teases a closer look at Cumming and Catherine Zeta-Jones’ characters who will be playing more prominent roles as the season continues.
It looks like Simon Hoxley (Cumming), the Europol agent investigating the death of Nicholas Endicott, is very suspicious of the Whitly family and it’s clear he intends to uncover the truth about Endicott’s demise. Can Malcolm and Ainsley avoid detection? The trailer also gives a few glimpses of the upcoming Edrisa-centric episode (episode 9) and even more unusual murders for the NYPD squad to solve, with Malcolm’s expert eye to help of course. Check out the trailer below!
We may also learn more details about how Malcolm got rid of Endicott (he is cutting off a thumb in the clip) as the Whitly’s band together to keep Hoxley off their trail. Meanwhile at Claremont, Martin and Dr. Capshaw seem to … come to an understanding as he takes up duties in the medical bay. She’s been forewarned about Martin’s attempts to charm her, but will she fall for them anyway? The trailer aptly ends with Malcolm reading one of his affirmation cards, meant to be uplifting, “I am grateful for the lessons I have learned from my family.” Understandably, he rips it up.
The second half of season 2 is shaping up to be just as exciting as the first. What are you most looking forward? Let us know in the comments below!
