Brand-New ‘My Hero Academia’ Episode To Premiere at New York Comic Con

My Hero Academia fans, get ready, because something exciting is coming to New York Comic Con (NYCC) next month.

Following a tease earlier this month about a “special” My Hero Academia screening event taking place at the convention, Crunchyroll has announced it will be the world premiere screening of an all-new original episode from the show’s sixth season, entitled “UA Heroes Battle”!

See below for the official episode synopsis.

“The third year, Mirio Togata, pays a visit to the students of Class 1-A, who are bored because they are not allowed to go outside. He brings them a card game called U.A. Heroes Battle that the support course made. This game, where players can use cards of various U.A. students, is tough, just like U.A. itself. Who will win the card battle?!”

This early, exclusive preview, which will be presented with its English dub, will be shown to NYCC attendees prior to its screening in Japan. In celebration of the premiere and in keeping with the theme of the episode, Crunchyroll will be giving away limited edition character cards at the screening (provided by UVS Games). Cards will be based on the new episode and playable with the My Hero Academia card game.

The screening will take place on Friday, October 13 at 5 p.m. ET at the Empire Stage and will be open to all NYCC badge holders.

Serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since 2014, Kōhei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia is set in a world where people are born with superpowers known as Quirks. Despite his lifelong dream of becoming a superhero himself, Izuku Midoriya is Quirkless … until he crosses paths with the world’s greatest hero, All Might, and enrolls in a prestigious high school for heroes in training.

NYCC will take place at the Javits Center in New York City from October 12-15. Go here to see Crunchyroll’s full convention lineup.
