The fifth season of the cult hit series, FLCL, entitled Shoegaze, will soon premiere on Adult Swim’s anime block, Toonami. Ahead of its release, the trailer has been revealed.
FL:CL: Shoegaze picks up after the events of FLCL Alternative. While everyone returns to their ordinary lives, two frustrated teenagers concoct a plot to destroy the Tsuganei tower in the hopes that it will incite change. This season is directed by Yutaka Uemura and features a soundtrack from The Pillows

FLCL: Shoegaze is animated by Production I.G x NUT, executive produced by DeMarco, and produced by Maki Terashima-Furuta (Production IG USA).
FLCL began as a six-episode anime series, manga, and novel adaptation in Japan between 2000 and 2001, following the story of Naota Nandaba and the wildly eccentric Haruko Haruhara. The FLCL universe expanded years later in 2018 with two more seasons, FLCL Progressive and FLCL Alternative. The fourth season, FLCL: Grunge, is currently airing and premiering new episodes on Saturdays at midnight ET/PT.
FLCL: Shoegaze will premiere on Saturday, September 30 at midnight ET/PT.
