9-1-1‘s season 6 stressful finale was last night, and it marked the end of an era for the series, as it was the last one on FOX. The first responder drama will be moving to ABC for season 7, and according to TVLine, the series, along with the entirety of ABC’s scripted slate, will be held for midseason on the 2023-24 schedule due to the writers’ strike.

The episode count is unknown at this time, but since 9-1-1 usually averages 18 episodes per season, it may not interfere with it. More news is likely to be announced in the coming months, depending on how long the strike lasts.

All six seasons of 9-1-1 are streaming on Hulu. Season 7 will be premiering sometime during midseason 2024 on ABC. Check out the rest of our 9-1-1 coverage here, and stay tuned for any updates at Nerds and Beyond.
