The second season of Netflix’s multi-Emmy Award winning adaptation of Alice Oseman’s hit webcomic/graphic novel series Heartstopper finally has a release date!

Fans have been anxiously awaiting any and all news about the hit show’s upcoming season. So on April 22, Netflix celebrated the anniversary of the first season’s debut by teasing fans about some exciting news coming soon, and they did not disappoint! Today the streamer announced that the show’s second season will premiere on Netflix worldwide August 3, 2023 via the special behind the scenes look with the show’s cast.

The Netflix and See-Saw Films Heartstopper adaptation features Kit Connor and Joe Locke as the story’s central characters, teenage boys, Nick and Charlie. A casting decision that earned the show two of its five Children’s and Family Emmy awards, as Daniel Edwards took home the award for Outstanding Casting and Kit Connor took home the award for Outstanding Lead Performance. The second season of the show will follow the boys as they explore what it means to be a couple, go on an adventure to Paris, and support their friends through the many ups and downs of teenage life. Just as in the first season, this season promises to be a heartwarming celebration of LGBTQ+ stories that you will not want to miss.
