Teaser Released for ‘Shooting Stars’, Coming to Peacock in June

The teaser trailer for Shooting Stars, a film based on the book by LeBron James and Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Friday Night Lights, Buzz Bissinger, has been released.

The story highlights one of basketball’s most beloved stars, LeBron James, and how he and his childhood friends rose to become the #1 high school team in the country.

The cast for Shooting Stars includes Marquis “Mookie” Cook in his screen debut as James, with Caleb McLaughlin, Avery S. Wills, Jr., Khalil Everage, Sterling “Scoot” Henderson, Wood Harris, Natalie Paul, Algee Smith, and Dermot Mulroney also starring.

The film is directed by Chris Robinson, with a screenplay by Frank E. Flowers, Tony Rettenmaier, and Juel Taylor. It’s produced by Rachel Winter p.g.a., Spencer Beighley p.g.a., LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson, and Terence Winter. It’s executive produced by Gretel Twombly. Universal Pictures presents a Springhill Company/Tangerine Pictures/Cold Front Productions production.

Shooting Stars arrives June 2, streaming only on Peacock.
