New AEW World Champion Crowned at AEW Full Gear

In one of the most anticipated matches in AEW history, MJF finally got his shot at the AEW World title and came out victorious against Jon Moxley.

It wouldn’t be MJF without a bit of cheating, and he did just that when William Regal, formerly aligned with the Blackpool Combat Club, turned on Jon Moxley and helped Friedman get the win.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he doesn’t exist.

On the Title Tuesday episode of Dynamite, Friedman cut one of the most heart-wrenching promos of the year, telling the story of his first encounter with Regal and how one email changed MJF forever. Regal wanted him to prove himself the right way. Without cheating. No diamond ring, no lackeys to do his bidding — all on his own.

Friedman’s first #1 contender will be crowned on the November 23 episode of AEW Dynamite. Ricky Starks, who walked out of AEW Zero Hour victorious against Brian Cage, will face Ethan Page in the finals.
