‘Grey’s Anatomy’: Ellen Pompeo Says Goodbye to Meredith Grey After 19 Seasons
The longest-running primetime medical drama has seen stars come and go over the last 19 seasons, but Grey’s Anatomy is about to see its biggest exit yet. After downgrading to eight episodes this current season, star Ellen Pompeo is officially scrubbing out following next year’s midseason return.
Pompeo made the goodbye announcement on Instagram, seemingly confirming that after Meredith moves to Boston, she’s staying there, at least for now. The winter finale of Grey’s Anatomy saw Meredith’s longtime family home up in flames after lightning struck it, marking the end of an era for not only Meredith, but fans of the ABC drama.
