Haley Bennett, Tom Sturridge, and Sam Riley have been cast in the upcoming film Clicquot highlighting the rise of the infamous French orange label champagne.
The film will be directed by Thomas Napper and written by Erin Dignam and Christopher Monger based on the novel The Widow Clicquot: The Story of a Champagne Empire and the Woman Who Ruled It by Tilar J. Mazzeo. Producers include Bennett, and Christina Weiss Lurie, along with Joe Wright and John Bernard as executive producers.
Bennett will star as Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin, the woman who created the iconic champagne brand that reached the halls of France, Britain, and Russia and her 19th-century vineyard.
Production on the film has begun but no release date has been set.
