Marvel Studios is preparing fans to get into the holiday spirit with their next Disney+ special presentation — The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
Guardians franchise director James Gunn directed and penned the special with inspiration from the Star Wars Holiday Special, which he loved unironically as a child. The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will take place chronologically between Thor: Love & Thunder and The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is set for a theatrical release on May 05, 2023.
The special stars returning cast members Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, and Sean Gunn … with surprise guest Kevin Bacon.
With Christmas approaching and Star-Lord still reeling from the loss of his beloved Gamora, the Guardians decide to go to Earth to bring Bacon to their captain in hopes to raise his spirits. Bacon has, of course, been name-dropped consistently throughout the franchise given that Star-Lord reveres the actor and his dance work in Footloose.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will be available to stream on Disney+ on November 25. Stay tuned with Nerds & Beyond for updates.
