With New Amsterdam‘s final season around the corner, the show has announced that Lauren’s estranged sister, Vanessa, will be showing up! First reported by TVLine, Kathryn Prescott, known for her roles in Finding Carter and Skins, will be recurring as Vanessa.
Vanessa is described as a “wild child who refuses to grow up, get a job, stay sober and play by the rules”. It’s said in the season 5 synopsis that “Dr. Bloom will continue to navigate her own personal journey, including a complicated relationship with her estranged sister, Vanessa.”
There’s been a previous mention of Lauren’s sister in the show when talked about how she left her behind when she got away from the complicated situation with their mom. According to showrunner David Schulner, this will be addressed.
