Major spoilers ahead for the season finale of 9-1-1: Lone Star! Read at your own risk!

It’s the moment we have all been waiting for! In the season 3 finale of 9-1-1: Lone Star, T.K. and Carlos are … wait for it … engaged!

This moment has been anticipated by Tarlos fans for a while now, though it seemed like it wouldn’t even come this season. When season 3 premiered, it was revealed that T.K. and Carlos broke up in the months that the series was on hiatus. And it was a breakup that was never seen on screen. While they did eventually get back together after T.K.’s latest brush with death, it was almost like an engagement wasn’t meant to be, at least not yet.

However, thanks to endless teasing by Ronen Rubinstein and Rafael Silva on social media, it was only just a matter of time before the paramedic or police officer popped the question. And just like some thought, T.K. did the asking in a very T.K., spur of the moment way. After T.K. and Carlos had an off-screen fight about their future (Carlos was writing a will and T.K. had yet to write one despite him always nearly dying), T.K. had a change of heart. He almost lost his dad in the building collapse and after finding out his cancer may be back, T.K. changed his mind.

In the middle of the night, T.K. woke up Carlos and told him that he wanted to write his will. Carlos, being half asleep, wasn’t really sure what was going on. But T.K. knew exactly what he wanted and who he wanted to leave everything to. So he asked Carlos the two words everyone has been hoping for.

“Marry me.”

“It’s not trauma, it’s love. The kind that you can’t get away from, and baby my life has been scarred with loss and at times it’s felt inescapable but that’s the risk of love, right? For the first time in my life, the love that I feel is infinitely more powerful than the fear of losing it. Every moment that we’re not married is a wasted moment, and baby we only get so many.”

Tyler Kennedy Strand

“A thousand times, yes.” Carlos affectionately replied. Oh, and he also called T.K., “Tyler.” When they broke the news to Paul, Marjan, Nancy, and Mateo, they could tell just by the clues that were left on the table amongst food and drinks. Of course, they were as happy as ever.

It was a beautiful moment and one that T.K., Carlos, and the fans will remember for years to come. With a season 4 officially confirmed, we’ll likely be able to see the couple get ready for their big day, and because it’s Tarlos and 9-1-1: Lone Star, there wil probably be some bumps in the road. But nonetheless, it will be worth it to see the officer and paramedic say “I do.”

This moment was definitely a long time coming. From the first time that T.K. and Carlos locked eyes with each other in the pilot episode, it was love at first sight, even if someone didn’t want to admit it at first. I won’t go on and on about them, but if you want to read everything great about Tarlos, read our article about them here.

Hopefully season 4 won’t include a big time jump so T.K. and Carlos’ engagement isn’t rushed. After waiting for a few years for it to happen, we and Tarlos deserve at least that. In the meantime, you better get ready for a Tarlos wedding happening in the near future!
