Dan Stevens Joins Cast of ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Sequel
The jury may still be out on whether or not Dan Stevens and Adam Wingard will ever reunite with a sequel to The Guest (at least there’s a soundtrack now), but the duo is set to team back up on another project — Wingard’s upcoming sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong, which he will once again direct. Stevens has been cast in the leading roll, though plot details about the film are unknown at this time. This news was first reported by Deadline.
This upcoming film, which is due to begin production this summer, will be the latest entry in Legendary Entertainment’s MonsterVerse. It follows Wingard’s prior movie Godzilla vs. Kong, which was released in 2021. Starring Alexander Skarsgård, Rebecca Hall, and Millie Bobby Brown, Godzilla vs. Kong saw the two most powerful forces of nature clash in a spectacular battle for the ages.
Stevens is known for his portrayal of Matthew Crawley in the hit period drama Downton Abbey, as well as his leading role in Noah Hawley’s mind-bending series Legion. His German language film I’m Your Man made waves across film festivals last year. Stevens can currently be found in the STARZ Watergate drama Gaslit, which premiered last month, and he’s set to appear alongside Kumail Nanjiani the upcoming Hulu series focused on the history of Chippendales, Immigrant.
