‘Kraven the Hunter’: Fred Hechinger Joins Cast of Upcoming Sony Marvel Universe Film

Share:

Fear Street actor Fred Hechinger has joined the cast of Sony’s Kraven the Hunter, based on the popular Marvel Comics character, per Deadline. Although it is unconfirmed, it is believed that Hechinger has joined the cast as Chameleon, Kraven’s half-brother and master of disguise.

Kraven the Hunter will be Sony’s fourth Spider-Man universe antagonist project, following two Venom movies and 2022’s MorbiusKraven will be directed by J.C. Chandor (Triple Frontier), with the screenplay coming from Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk.

Wenk has spoken about the story for the movie being largely based on Kraven’s most popular comic storyline, Kraven’s Last Hunt, and that there is potential for Kraven the Hunter to receive a sequel. Considering the comic run includes an epic show-down with Spider-Man, there is certainly a lot of opportunity for Kraven to be used by Sony to propel their Shared Spider-Man Universe forward even more.

Details are still scarce surrounding Kraven the Hunter, and besides the addition of Hechinger, there are only two previously confirmed cast members for the film: Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular character, and Russell Crowe in an unconfirmed role.

Kraven the Hunter is currently slated for a January 13, 2023 release. You can follow our coverage for the film here.
