‘Kung Fu’: Vanessa Yao, Annie Q., and JB Tadena Cast for Season 2

According to Deadline, the CW show Kung Fu has onboarded three new cast members. Vanessa Yao (Soul breaker, Blackfox Ridge), Annie Q. (Alex Strangelove, The Leftovers), and JB Tadena (SEAL Team, Westworld) are all slated to join the Kung Fu cast for season 2.

Yao will appear as Mia, Mei-Xue’s daughter, who was hinted at near the end of season 1. However, Nicky’s meeting with her newfound cousin won’t be all sunshine and rainbows. According to Deadline, “The daughter of a Guardian and a Warrior, [Mia’s] hybrid bloodline is a key piece of Russell Tan’s villainous plan”.

Speaking of Tans, Annie Q. is set to debut as Juliette Tan, daughter to Russell Tan and sister to Kerwin Tan. Season 2 will see her stepping up and trying to gain the favor of her father while battling with “just how far she’s willing to go to seize the brass ring and ascend to her father’s throne”.

Finally, Tadena will appear as Harmony Dumplings’ newest face, Chef Sebastian, as business booms for the Shen family. Ryan, newly single since his ex-beau’s move for work, will have his interest immediately piqued, but will anything come of it? Workplace relationships can be messy, and that’s when your S.O. isn’t friends with your mom (also the boss).

These three will join the regular cast which is comprised of: Olivia Liang, Eddie Liu, Tzi Ma, Kheng Hua Tan, Jon Prasida, Shannon Dang, Gavin Stenhouse, Vanessa Kai, Tony Chung, and Yvonne Chapman. How will the addition of these new faces affect the plot moving forward this upcoming season? Only time will tell.

Kung Fu returns on Wednesday, March 9 on The CW in its previously established 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT slot. Stay tuned for upcoming coverage concerning season 2, and check out all of our other content on the show here!
