The film nominations for the 2022 Critics Choice Awards were revealed, and Adam McKay’s new dark comedy Don’t Look Up has received six nominations!
The nominations include:
- Best Picture
- Adam McKay, David Sirota for Best Original Screenplay
- “Just Look Up” for Best Original Song
- Nicholas Britell for Best Original Score
- Best Acting Ensemble
- Best Comedy
The film was also nominated for four Golden Globe Awards today, revving up Oscar buzz for the doomsday comedy.
Its star-studded cast nabbed a much deserved Best Acting Ensemble nomination for the film’s incredible performers Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Rob Morgan, Cate Blanchett, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, and Ron Perlman. Ariana Grande’s “Just Look Up” also received another nomination, along with the film making it into the Best Picture and Best Comedy categories.
When grad student Kate Dibiasky (Lawrence) finds an asteroid on a trajectory to Earth with a 100% collision chance, she and her professor Dr. Randall Mindy (DiCaprio) set out to convince the world of its impending arrival, which turns out to be much harder than it should be. Armed with scientific data, the pair teams up with Dr. Teddy Oglethorpe of NASA to take on the most difficult task of all: convince the sitting President of the United States (Streep) that the world is about to end.
