It’s time for gamers to embark on a new Star Wars adventure, this time set in the High Republic era. The mysterious reveal trailer was unveiled during the Game Awards 2021. Star Wars: Eclipse is coming from independent game developers Quantic Dream the developers behind Detroit, Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls. Quantic Dream will develop Eclipse in partnership with Lucasfilm Games.

The High Republic era has only recently begun to be explored in the Star Wars universe, finding it’s main media outlet in books. This era occurs approximately 200 years before the Skywalker Saga, in a time of Jedi prosperity. As the trailer would indicate, Jedi prosperity does not mean there is not a presence of the dark side. The overall mood of the trailer is dark, revealing few details for the upcoming action-adventure game outside of the era in which it will take place.

According to the game website, Star Wars: Eclipse will let you play as a diverse cast of characters across the Outer Rim, each with their own unique story, abilities, and role. As the game is still in early development, a release date and details regarding which console(s) the game will head to have not been revealed. Check back for details as the game continues to develop.
