Agent Maria Hill is reporting for duty. Cobie Smulders has officially been added to the cast of the upcoming Marvel Disney+ series Secret Invasion.
This comes as no surprise to longtime Marvel fans, as Agent Maria Hill is usually not far behind Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury. The pair, first seen in The Avengers, was last spotted in Spider-Man: Far From Home. However, Spider-Man: Far From Home revealed that the Maria and Fury on Earth were indeed Skrulls, with Fury on a galactic vacation within a Skrull spacecraft. Hill’s whereabouts after her appearance at Tony Stark’s memorial service in Avengers: Endgame are unknown.
Jackson will reprise his role as former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury with Ben Mendelsohn returning as the Skrull Talos introduced in Captain Marvel. Other cast members that have yet to be confirmed by Marvel themselves include Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, and Emilia Clarke.
Not much is known about the plot of Secret Invasion, but it will highlight longtime MCU veteran Nick Fury and Talos as they take on a faction of Skrulls that have been infiltrating the Earth for years.
The series will air exclusively on Disney+.
