Harry Styles Receives Fourth Grammy Nomination
In an update to the 2021 Grammy Awards, Harry Styles’ Fine Line has been nominated for Best Immersive Audio Album! The award was not given out in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, meaning that two separate lists of nominees were produced for this year. In a statement during last year’s nominations, the Recording Academy explained the reason for the change.
“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Best Immersive Audio Album Craft Committee was unable to meet. The judging of the entries in this category has been postponed until such time that we are able to meet in a way that is appropriate to judge the many formats and configurations of the entries and is safe for the committee members. The nominations for the 63rd Grammy’s will be announced next year in addition to (and separately from) the 64th Grammy nominations in the category.”
Fine Line will compete in the 2022 category, while last year’s nominees will be judged separately against other albums released in this year of eligibility. Fine Line will compete against Alicia by Alicia Keys, Clique by Patricia Barber, The Future Bites by Steven Wilson, and Stille Grender by Anne Karin Sundal-Ask and Det Norske Jentekor.
Styles won the award for Best Pop Solo Performance for “Watermelon Sugar” at last year’s ceremony, with Fine Line also nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album. “Adore You” was also nominated for Best Music Video. The 64th Grammy Awards will take place on January 21, 2022.
