Spoilers ahead for the season 5 finale of Riverdale!

Following the season 5 finale of Riverdale, the series is losing yet another parent and this one doesn’t come as much of a surprise but still heartbreaking. Mark Consuelos is officially exiting the CW series ahead of season 6 next month, according to TVLine.

Consuelos has portrayed Hiram Lodge, essentially the show’s villain, since season 2. As Veronica’s father, he has done some pretty questionable things, especially since being elected mayor of Riverdale. In the season 5 finale, the gang had had enough of Hiram after he had a Ghoulie torch Pop’s. In the end, he was ran out of town and blackmailed with a video of him murdering his father’s killer.

While Hiram wasn’t the greatest and most likable character, he always made the show interesting and Riverdale‘s sixth season definitely won’t be the same without Mark Consuelos as Hiram Lodge!

Season 6 of Riverdale premieres Tuesday, November 16 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on The CW!
