It’s a great day to purchase tickets for 20th Century Studio’s upcoming epic adventure Free Guy, releasing only in theaters August 13.

To prove it, a new promo released featuring a “leveled up” Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds captions that 2021 has been a year of growth for him, “mentally, emotionally, and hormonally” in the promo.

Free Guy is an action-adventure film about a video-game NPC bank teller, Guy (Reynolds) who develops free-will and decides to become the hero of his own story. Guy is then hunted by Antwan (Taika Waititi), the film’s baddie who wants to put an end to this newly-sentient character. It becomes the responsibility of Guy to become the guy to save his world, his way.

In addition to Reynolds and Waititi, the film stars Jodie Comer, Lil Rel Howery, Joe Keery, and Utkarsh Ambudkar. Free Guy is directed by Night at the Museum director Shawn Levy from a screenplay by Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn. The film was produced by Reynolds, Levy, Sarah Schechter, Greg Berlanti and Adam Kolbrenner with Mary McLaglen, Josh McLaglen, George Dewey, Dan Levine and Michael Riley McGrath serving as executive producers.

You can purchase tickets for the film here, or wherever else tickets are sold! You can also check out last month’s promo featuring Marvel’s Deadpool and Korg here.
