Marvel Confirms Cinematic Loki as Gender Fluid

With only a few days left to go until the premiere of Loki on Disney+, the official Loki Twitter account has released a new spot with one huge exciting detail.

In his TVA file in a blink-and-miss-it moment, Loki’s sex is listed as fluid, meaning that the MCU has officially confirmed Loki as gender fluid in cinematic canon.

Marvel Studios

This development comes as no surprise to comic readers who have seen Loki as both his male and female form through the years, but the MCU had yet to acknowledge this very important aspect of Loki’s character until now.

Whether or not they expand upon this in the series remains to be seen, but for now Loki’s gender fluidity is canon and very much on the table.

Loki premieres Wednesday, June 9 exclusively on Disney+.

Stay tuned for our spoiler-free review of the first two episodes, episodic recaps and detailed articles throughout the series, and a special Pride Spotlight on Loki later this month!
