‘WandaVision’ Earns Five MTV Movie & TV Award Nominations

AWARDS'WandaVision' Earns Five MTV Movie & TV Award Nominations

WandaVision may be over but nominations are just starting to roll in for the hit Disney+ series.

MTV released the nominations for their Movie & TV Awards today and WandaVision leads the way with five total nods: best show, best performance in a show (Elizabeth Olsen), best hero (Teyonah Parris), best villain (Kathryn Hahn), and best fight (Wanda vs. Agatha). Voting for the winner is currently open!

WandaVision opened up Marvel’s Phase 4 after some serious reshuffling due to the ongoing pandemic, and it opened with a bang. For weeks talks of the show dominated social media, the show even crashing the streaming service in the early hours of the morning as viewers clamored to watch as soon as the episode released at 12 a.m. PT on Friday mornings.

What was once considered a risk due to the quirky nature and veer off from the typical high-flying action one anticipates from a Marvel project, WandaVision proved to be a hit and expanded the world of Marvel’s possibilities with future content. Instead of a traditional villain (although Hahn’s Agatha Harkness is considered one) the show took on an exploration of grief in one of its more tragic characters, Wanda Maximoff. And it paid off.

You can currently watch all eight episodes of WandaVision on Disney+.

The 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards will be held May 16 at 9 p.m. ET.
