The CW and HBO Max, which are both owned by WarnerMedia, have jointly obtained Wellington Paranormal, the spin-off series of Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clements mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows (2014). The vampire comedy has also produced another spin-off series, What We Do in the Shadows, also gearing up for its third season on FX.

Wellington Paranormal first aired in New Zealand in 2018. The comedy series already has three seasons and follows a group of police investigators in New Zealand as they look into cases evolving around supernatural events.

The CW will get the first airings of Wellington Paranormal in its summer lineup. However, there is no premiere date yet. HBO Max will stream the episodes the day after they air.

HBO Max also has full streaming rights to some of The CW’s original content, including Batwoman, Nancy DrewWalker, and Superman & Lois.

Wellington Paranormal stars Mike Minogue and Karen O’Leary as they reprise their roles from What We Do in the Shadows (2014).
