Anthony and Joe Russo have joined the growing list of celebrities to sign exclusive deals with Spotify to produce original podcasts. The duo will be producing their podcast under the umbrella of their production company AGBO, which most recently oversaw Tom Holland’s new film Cherry.
Best known for their work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having directed three of the universe’s largest films, the Russo brothers are well known and respected for their work on this type of genre-based content. It is currently expected that their podcast deal, which comprises of multiple years and series, will be a place for them to create an expansive, interconnected set of series that span generations. AGBO has yet to release details about specific projects coming to Spotify, but they have promised more details will be coming in the near future.
This new podcast joins an impressive list of celebrity and entertainment podcasts coming to Spotify in the near future, including podcasts from the former President and First Lady Obama, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and DC comics. It is particularly interesting to note that this podcast was announced the same day as the DC podcast, as it seems likely the two will play to similar audiences. However, until more details emerge we will simply have to wait in suspense.
