Dearest Readers, Netflix’s record breaking series, Bridgerton, has nabbed two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations!
The series was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble Cast in a Drama Series and star Regé-Jean Page (Simon Bassett/Duke of Hastings) nabbed a spot in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series category.
Bridgerton, based on the series by Julia Quinn, rocked the Netflix records, with 82 million people (41% of global subscribers) tuning in to watch the scandals and budding romances in its first 28 days on the service — the most for a series on the streaming giant so far. The series was renewed for a second season set to revolve around the eldest Bridgerton brother, Anthony, and his novel The Viscount Who Loved Me. It begins filming in the spring.
Season 1 starred Regé-Jean Page, Phoebe Dynevor, Jonathan Bailey, Luke Newton, Claudia Jessie, Nicola Coughlan, Ruby Barker, Sabrina Bartlett, Ruth Gemmell, Adjoa Andoh, Polly Walker, Ben Miller, Bessie Carter, Golda Rosheuvel, and Harriet Cains and Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown.
