Earlier this week, the Peaky Blinders showrunners announced that production had begun on a new season of the show, but unfortunately this new season will be the show’s last.

The show, which has aired on the BBC and Netflix, has been highly popular since its inception in September of 2013, and many will be sad to hear that this season will be the last. However, executive producer for BBC Tommy Bulfin assures viewers that, “scripts for series six are truly remarkable and provide a fitting send-off which we are sure will delight fans.” It will be interesting to see how this final season plays out under the new production safety protocols, but it is exciting to hear that such protocols are in place to allow filming to take place and ultimately bring back the world so many fans love.

Stream the first five seasons of the show now on Netflix.
