Looking Back on the Funniest Lines From ‘9-1-1’

FOX’s hit procedural series 9-1-1 follows the harrowing experiences of a group of first responders in Los Angeles — namely the firefighters of Station 118. Between all of the close calls, the losses, and the personal drama in the lives of our main characters, 9-1-1 has a tendency to be a bit of a tearjerker. However, one of the things that makes the show so enjoyable is the snarky comments, fun banter, and downright hilarious moments that balance out the drama in between.

With less than a week to go until the premiere of season 4 of 9-1-1, we’re taking a look back at some of the funniest lines to come out of seasons 1 through 3. Is it a coincidence that most of these involve Buck in some way, shape, or form? Probably not.

Buck: “Congratulations, Connor. It’s a boy.”

Leave it to Buck not only be unbothered while removing a tapeworm from someone, but to then close with a joke after the fact. (Season 1, Episode 7)

Buck: “You have an AOL e-mail account still? It is literally like you were frozen in ember in 1995.”
Bobby: “It’s ‘amber,’ not ’ember,’ you idiot.”

Bobby Nash with the comeback! Ever try to roast someone and then get burned yourself? Sorry, Buck. (Season 1, Episode 10)

Chimney: “All right, Buckaroo. If you were not a member of the LAFD, what would you be doing?”
Buck: “Uh, I don’t know. I’m not getting fired, am I?”
Chimney: “That’s inevitable.”
Hen: “He’d be a golden retriever.”

To be fair, it’s an accurate observation. (Season 2, Episode 2)

Buck: “Yeah, well, this is the only place that has … Happy Cat laxative powder.”
Hen: “You’re buying cat laxative?”
Buck: “Yeah, I’ve been thinking of, uh, of getting a cat.”
Chimney: “And you’re anticipating your new cat will be irregular.”

Okay so … perhaps lying on the spot isn’t Buck’s forte. (Season 3, Episode 5)

Chimney: “Okay, are you a good omen or a bad omen? ‘Cause, you know, I Googled you, and the old wives are kind of divided on this question.”

Buck just really has a way with kids. (Season 3, Episode 10)

Chimney: “Closest you’ve gotten to turning on a woman in the past few months is shouting out, ‘Hey, Siri!'”
Buck: “Well, she’s very good to me. She sings me songs, she delivers me food, she tells me where to be, when, and how to get there, and that is pretty much love.”
