Kevin Feige Confirms Deadpool is Joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Share

Holy s@#%! Deadpool has officially joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

With the Marvel-Fox merger in 2019 came questions about the future of Deadpool and whether or not we’d see him in the MCU. In a recent interview with Collider, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige put that issue to rest. Thank you, 2021.

“It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now … It will not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”

Deadpool 3 will be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it will also be maintaining that R-rating that Deadpool requires. Unfortunately, this comes with the confirmation that Deadpool 3 will not begin filming this year, so a release likely won’t arrive until 2023 at the earliest, likely putting it in Marvel’s Phase 5.

With Deadpool joining the MCU, it’s exciting to consider which of our MCU heroes he may interact with. Who do you think the Regenerating Degenerate will come into contact with? Let us know!
