“What Do You Fear?” Well, Dark Horse Comics has the answer for horror fans. On February 3, 2021, the first of four issues of a new horror detective series called Fear Case will release.

This series is created by writer/artist Matt Kindt (Pistol Whip), illustrator/comic artist Tyler Jenkins (Snow Blind), and colorist/painter Hilary Jenkins (Tartarus). This is not the first time the team has worked together. The Eisner-award nominated team also brought readers Grass Kings. On reuniting for this project, Kindt and Jenkins had this to say:

“I’ve never written a story in the horror genre before. Real-life is already so full of it. This is the most grounded thing I’ve ever written. And as a result, it’s definitely the most horrific. I apologize in advance.” –Matt Kindt.

“Once again, working with Matt is exactly as it should be between collaborators. The projects we build are a pure joy to work on.” –Tyler Jenkins.

So, what is Fear Case about? It follows a no-nonsense Secret Service agent and his partner as they go through the mysterious case file box marked “Fear Case.” This box has made its way through disasters and history. Just like in the horror movie The Ring, once you are in possession of the box, you have three days to pass it on or face deadly consequences. “The agents must track down this Fear Case while staying one step ahead of a psychotic cult and the otherworldly forces behind the Case’s existence.” Prior to releasing the first issue, fans can get a peek at the first three cover pages for issue 1.

You can pre-order Fear Case #1, which comes out on February 3, 2021, now!
