‘Moreau’ Based on the H.G. Wells Novel ‘The Island of Dr. Moreau’ Being Adapted as a TV Series by DUST
DUST, from Gunpowder & Sky, is developing a tv series from the H.G. Wells novel The Island of Dr. Moreau. Aptly titled Moreau, it will see the writer of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and X-Men: First Class, Zack Stenz, telling the modern twist to the story.
Very excited to announce DUST is turning “The Island of Dr. Moreau” by H.G. Wells into a series.
Zack Stentz will write it (X-Men: First Class, Thor) drawing on his mutant genetic experience.
More to be revealed soon, but for now expect Beast Folk, but through a CRISPR lens. https://t.co/sK1aCgylrT

According to the Deadline article, the series will follow the story of Dr. Jessica Moreau, a world-renowned scientist who works in genetic engineering. That brand of science tends to create attention, not all of it good. A billionaire backer will stop at nothing in the search to reach the next step of human evolution. Considering the timeline from when H.G. Wells wrote the novel in 1896, which consists of both human and beast-like creatures, to previous adaptions in film, books, and TV, I cannot wait to see where DUST and Stenz take the story.
Stay tuned for more information about Moreau as it becomes available. Don’t forget to check out the podcasts from DUST, including season three CHRYSALIS, season two Flight 008, and season one Horizons on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, iHeartRadio, or Castbox.
