‘Orphan’ Prequel With Original Star Isabelle Fuhrman Begins Filming
Fans of the iconic horror film Orphan got a double surprise – a new prequel titled Orphan: First Kill is filming now, with original star Isabelle Fuhrman returning!
The first Orphan was an instant cult hit in 2009 and starred a young Fuhrman as Esther, a pint-sized orphan adopted by a family who is about to discover that “Esther” has a deadly secret. Deadline reports that Orphan: First Kills will follow the story of Esther before she is adopted as she
orchestrates a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Leena’s new life as “Esther” comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost.
Julia Stiles was also announced as joining the cast, and the prequel is filming now in Canada. According to Deadline, the crew will use de-aging techniques and makeup to return a now twenty-something Fuhrman to her preteen self. There is no word yet on a release date or other cast members.
