Travis McElroy, the host of the podcasts My Brother, My Brother & Me, and The Adventure Zone, joins this week’s episode of comedic paranormal podcast Bigfoot Collectors Club to dish about all things paranormal.
McElroy joins hosts Bryce Johnson (Pretty Little Liars) and Michael McMillian (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) as they talk about everything weird that’s happened throughout history. The three start off by talking about the fun decorations Johnson and McMillian have throughout the studio, mentioning a giant yeti sculpture and books on the occult. The three then dish about Dungeons and Dragons, McElroy’s childhood, being born in West Virginia, and currently living in Cincinnati.
The three go on to converse about religion, Satan, and demonic possession. Johnson and McMillian ask McElroy about personal paranormal or weird encounters that he’s had. McElroy speaks about having an overactive imagination and being fascinated with cryptids; he actually has a Loch Ness Monster tattoo and a dog named Nessie. He mentions going ghost hunting in abandoned buildings when he was younger. He doesn’t quite believe in ghosts but admits he is open to believing in places having bad vibes and bad energy. McElroy tells the story of spending a weekend at Ravenwood Castle in Plymouth, Ohio, its murder mystery show, and seeing a werewolf in the woods.
The three then play a fun game named “believe it or bullshit” where the hosts give the guest a list of popular paranormal phenomena; the guests say if they “believe it” or call it “bullshit”. McElroy, Johnson, and McMillian go down the list and break down the things McElroy claims to believe in. They begin to discuss time travel – specifically a book named Time Travel in Einstein’s Universe and how time traveling could be actually possible. The three men end the show speaking on the possibility of bigfoot, or the “Mongolian Monster”, as a report of a firsthand encounter is read aloud.
