Paramount Pictures has released the trailer for its newest post-apocalyptic film Love and Monsters, written by Brian Duffield and Matthew Robinson, which follows Dylan O’Brien’s character, Joel, seven years after the monsterpocalypse. Joel, along with the rest of humanity, has taken shelter underground due to the creatures taking over the land. When Joel reconnects with his former girlfriend Aimee (Jessica Henwick) he decides to make the rash decision to go against everything he knows about the dangerous monsters that stand in his way to travel 80 miles to the coastal colony where she is located.

Alongside O’Brien and Henwick, the film also stars Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Walking Dead) as Clyde, Arianna Greenblatt (Scoob, Avengers: Infinity War) as Minnow, and Dan Ewing (Occupation) as Cap. The film is directed by Michael Matthews and produced by Shawn Levy.

Love and Monsters is slated to release on digital Friday, October 16.
