The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards Performer Lineup Revealed

The MTV Video Music Awards has revealed their performer lineup for 2020. They announced that Miley Cyrus will debut her newest single, “Midnight Sky,” for her first time on stage. This will mark her fifth performance on the VMA stage. Alongside Cyrus, this year’s thrilling entertainers will include Lady Gaga (who will be performing for the first time in over seven years), who will bring her newest released album Chromatica to life. The Weeknd, BTS, J Balvin, Doja Cat, Roddy Ricch, CNCO, and Maluma are also among the performers announced. Keke Palmer is set to host the ceremony.

Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga bring in the top nominations with nine each, including “Video of the Year.” Taylor Swift, Dua Lupa, Justin Bieber, BTS, and Harry Styles are also among the nominees. While the award show will feature all the traditional categories that viewers will know and enjoy, there will also be some new categories due to the pandemic which include: “Best Music Video from Home” and “Best Quarantine Performance.”

Fans can cast their votes on the VMAs’ website through August 23. The 2020 MTV VMA’s will air on Sunday, August 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
