The Star Wars Holiday Special strikes back … sort of.

On a fated day long ago — November 17, 1978, to be exact — the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special premiered on CBS. And while this truly unforgettable piece of wonderfully disastrous Star Wars history will likely never join the Disney+ lineup, something festive is coming to the streaming service later this year — The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special!

The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special is a 45-minute animated adventure, scheduled to land on Disney+ on … you guessed it … Life Day, November 17. The film will feature Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewbacca, Rose, R2-D2, BB-8, and more as they reunite for a Life Day feast.

Taking place after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the story will follow Rey as she heads off on a quest to gain a deeper knowledge of the Force. Her travels take her to a mysterious Jedi temple, through which she ends up on a cross-timeline adventure through iconic moments in Star Wars cinematic history. Notable figures such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi will make appearances.
