Creator Luke Armstrong took 14 days during quarantine and created a science fiction thriller film called Solitary. Thankfully we don’t have to wait too long to see it. It will be released on various platforms and main retailers on August 31.

In the year 2044, Earth is pretty much destroyed and depleted of resources. Trying to figure out how to get back home after he wakes up onboard a space pod after being condemned to Earth’s first colony is Prisoner Isaac Havelock (Johnny Sachon). Isaac Havelock, who has very little memories, soon discovers that he is not alone. The mysterious Alana Skill (Lottie Tolhurst) is there as well.

On making the film, Luke Armstrong mentions,

This film started life as a short, shot entirely in my living room with a portable green screen, as we wanted to show just what could be achieved on little to no budget. With that mantra in mind, we made the feature in just 14 days on a micro-budget and completed it remotely due to Covid-19. I’m thrilled that we’ve come through all these challenges to gain worldwide distribution, so I can’t wait for the film to get out there and find its audience! I try to write films that are grounded in emotional truth and deliver the spectacle with VFX and craft. I love working with actors – it’s our job as directors to find the truth and magic in a performance and nurture it, and It always brings a grin to my face watching actors bringing meaning to a scene.

The movie from Inspired Pictures and High Fliers Film is written, directed, and produced by visual effects filmmaker Luke Armstrong (The Witcher), music by Vince Cox (The Door), and produced by Sarah-Anne Grill (KXDS: Beautiful Brains), with actor Johnny Sachon (Deep Cuts). It stars Lottie Tolhurst, Johnny Sachon, Andrew Mike Doyle, Connie Jenkins-Greig, Michael Condron, Raymond Bethley, and more.

The exciting film Solitary comes out on August 31 across multiple platforms and major retailers. You can watch the trailer below.
