Date Announced for ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ Movie
The blue speedster is coming back. Paramount is planning on releasing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on April 8, 2022 to theaters.
With it being in early development, there are no details about the plot. If it continues from the last movie, it could focus on Miles Prower, aka Tails, who just arrived at Earth in search of Sonic, with Dr. Robotnik stranded.
The first Sonic film had an interesting start. When the first trailer was released, fans were not happy with the appearance of the iconic video game character and took to social media to voice their opinions. Paramount heard them and redesigned the character, and it paid off. The movie turned out to be one of the most successful video game to movie debut, even setting a record!
Expected to return to direct is Jeff Fowler, from the first film, and Pat Casey and Josh Miller will write the script. Also expected to return are Jim Carrey, James Marsden, and Ben Schwartz.
