Did the Trees Turn Out to be Taylor Swift’s Eighth Album? ‘Folklore’ Is Out Tonight!

It was indeed an ordinary Thursday morning until Taylor Swift brought light to a sage old lyric captured on her 1989 record, “the monsters turned out to be just trees.” While these trees in question are now shown in a monochrome photograph captured during a COVID-19 safe shoot where she did her own hair, makeup, and styling, the surprisingly sans Easter-egg announcement is the same: Folklore is upon us.
Seemingly centered around a mystical theme cast back to simpler times, Folklore will have 16 poetically titled songs as well as the bonus track “the lakes” lurking on eight deluxe CD and vinyl special editions. Available exclusively at taylorswift.com, fans who choose to purchase will also be able to cast their eyes over unique covers, photos, and artwork. And the best part? There is no countdown as the eighth TS album will drop tonight at 12 a.m. EST. Happy Swifting! We know we will as the fifth track entitled “my tears ricochet” is our current state of mind.
