‘The Legend of Korra’ Arrives on Netflix on August 14

Avatar: The Last Airbender‘s (ATLA) move to Netlfix prompted a wave of popularity similar in intensity to its debut on Nickelodeon back in 2005 – it was, as they say, a children’s cultural reset. After it’s smashing success on the streaming platform, it’s no surprise that fans were left wanting more. Fear not, for Nickelodeon’s 2012 sequel series,  The Legend of Korra,  is also making a move and will be available for streaming on August 14.

This installment in the world of ATLA set 70 years after the events of Aang’s adventures in the third season follows Korra, the next Avatar in line who hails from the Southern Water Tribe. Having mastered the elements of earth, water, and fire, Korra travels to Republic City to learn airbending from Aang’s son, Tenzin. Despite being a supposed peaceful melting pot of benders and non-benders, Korra discovers crime is rampant in the city – not to mention there is an underground anti-bending revolution that threatens the city.

We can’t wait to see Korra in action. The Legend of Korra will be available on August 14.
