First Look at Oscar Isaac in Paul Schrader’s ‘The Card Counter’
Oscar Isaac has been on a roll since finishing up his final performance as hotshot Resistance pilot Poe Dameron in the Skywalker Saga’s final film, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Since then, he has accumulated a growing list of films that he has been cast in, which are all in various stages of production, including his two latest announcements for James Gray’s Armageddon Time and Ben Stiller’s London.
Currently still filming is The Card Counter, Paul Schrader’s upcoming revenge thriller that was placed on production hiatus back in March due to COVID-19 (with just five days left to shoot!) According to Deadline, the movie is set to resume filming in July.
Alongside Isaac, The Card Counter also stars Tye Sheridan, Tiffany Haddish, and Willem Dafoe. Isaac is William Tell, a gambler and former serviceman who sets out to reform a young man, Cirk, who is seeking revenge on a mutual enemy from their past. William’s attempts to build a relationship to keep Cirk on the straight-and-narrow prove difficult, as he is soon drug back into the darkness of his past.
